Event Gear, One Time Only?

So after having a bit of fun with the current 2011 Christmas event and obtaining my deer suit, I looked around and was disappointed to see no merchant or quest to obtain the goodies from Christmas 2010. Does this mean that Event items can only ever be obtained the year of their release and will never again be obtainable, or will we see them in the future?

I didn't check this at all but... last year was probably the year of the Rabbit and this year is probably the year of the Dragon.. hence the helmets.

Having different seasonal event gear will allow them to create more achievements over the life of the game, which makes people want to play (trophy collecting).

I was hoping they'd take the FFXI route with this and make the old event gear re-obtainable during the event by quest or buying it from an NPC during the related event. As far as achievements go, they could easily have it where you only obtain the achievement if you acquire the gear during the original event it was released in, an example is how if you buy the Easter egg hats from the market ward, you do not get the related history tab achievement from the event.

You can actually still find the recipes for those items, the Santa outfits and the kabuto but some people are selling them if you really want one. My only regret deleting my characters back in March is losing those items. But oh well.

well seince we are only on round 2 of events, yes they are 1 time only

but this is not to say these events wont be recycled in the years to come so that they eventualy alertnate so you can reget stuff
