Decided to do leveling as healer in need for the extra cluster and got a brand-new DRK who's never tanked before, and had mostly DoH/DoL gear on the left side. The dungeon was Brayflox of course. We somehow cleared, but I had to spend like 95% of the time healing and was only able to toss out the occasional Aero or Stone if I was really lucky. Of course that was the only gear he had.

I feel like the game is to blame for that. They give you the bare minimum (shirt and pants) but not a full set of Lv30 gear.

Combined with the joys of how the gear recommendation system handles tanks... a newbie tank is prettymuch doomed to be awfully geared if they don't realise they need to get more armour. (or at least to equip the Lv20 gauntlets they got from a dungeon instead of the "recommended" Lv30 crafter gloves.)

Maybe the Dragoon has PTSD from the MSQ Roulette Dungeons, who's shortcuts can often send you backwards. xD

I got caught out with that one time! Somehow ended up way behind the group in the armour-riding section so I hopped off and used the shortcut... which dumped me back in the room where you get into the armour. Except it's gone.

So because I knew the dungeon well enough, I was able to take the lift back down and regroup with the party that way (and fortunately found an abandoned newbie along the way in those dark days of skippable cutscenes), but a new player would be totally lost if that happened to them.

You know, one of these days I was planning to write a "leveling guide", like a rundown of what stuff you get when, and what their uses are. I'm not too great on any job, but I know all of them "well enough" to do something like that. The problem would be finding a place to put it, so that people could find it. :/

I've had the same thought, though I'm shockingly disorganised and probably wouldn't get around to doing it.

A straightforward list/table of "at level X you gain skill Y. At this point your basic rotation should be ABC and using Y when available."

It would be a huge help for understanding what things do, instead of eventually figuring it out (or having to watch video guides, which I don't like so much for simple reference).

Yeah, tank seemed like a jerk. But they had a point about not casting regen pre-pull. I don't even try to argue with healers about it anymore, I just click it off whenever I see it between trash packs.

Also SE won't do anything about either reports from that group. In that regard, you were both being petty and wasting GMs' time. In bad groups like this it's best to either just vote them out or leave; trying to get GMs to play referee to pointless, trivial squabbles is immature and just gums up the system for people trying to report actual issues.

Expert, me WHM had a PLD tank that used Clemency every time his HP dropped to ~75%

Shiva in trial roulette, in the final stretch. DPS are three samurai and me on red mage. Things are going smoothly, when suddenly the offtank taunts her, she cleaves the entire party to death except for me and the tanks (I don't know why the healers were in melee range to begin with....). The offtank then ran off into the ice around the edge of the platform, died, and laughed about it.

MT and I still managed to finish her off.

Lots of reporting happened.

Literally every time I do alliance raid roulette I get Labyrinth of the Ancients, and every time during the Atomos fight no one ever knows what to do. I can understand a new person not knowing, but there's rarely new people. I feel compelled to remind everyone to keep 4 people on the platforms because somehow these people can have every class at 70 and don't know how to do that fight. How do you get so far and screw up something so simple.

I think the worst part is when it's done deliberately. I've seen other parties all rush to their Atomos just to down it first for... idk. Bragging rights? And completely ignore people screaming at them to get on the platform.

No point even killing an Atomos quickly, you end up having to wait for the other two groups regardless.

I always see the ranged players run off the platform, so the melee has to stand behind and....dance, mostly.

I entered 50/60 Roulette as a BLM with a WHM friend and ended up on Antitower.

The tank in question had as much HP as myself and the WHM, so I wasn't expecting any super pulls.

The other BLM who was in our party had 6K less HP than me and... was using an i110 weapon. They were also only using a level 50 rotation as well. The rest of the gear was 250+ but needless to say, the run took a very long time..

There were no concerns aside from the fact the dungeon was slow, but holy crap people, PLEASE UPGRADE YOUR WEAPONS. PLEASE.

Been leveling my alt the last few days, and I get a tank in the Aery that had 1,000 less HP than me........the healer. They were in Green HQ i90 gear with NQ i115 accessories. We had to take things veeeeeery sloooooow. At least I had a BRD and a MCH for Refresh because my tank was pretty squishy. At least he was trying to use cooldowns.

First time I've felt glad HW leveling dungeons were nerfed.....
