Right. So you're going to penalize the tanks that actually give a toss about optimizing their role so that you can stand on the moral high ground of... not pushing a single OGCD once every minute and a half? No. Getting through the content is everyone's job. Adjusting for party weaknesses is everyone's job. Getting the enemy's attention and holding it? That's the tank's tank's job. Expecting other roles to manage aggro just so they can stay out of tank stance and dps is not actually in anyone's job description. If your group is down with it, then fine but certainly don't expect it from me unless there's a legit reason I need to aggro dump. :\
And people wonder why nobody wants to tank.
EDIT: My bad, Diversion and Lucid Dreaming are both 2 minute CDs.

So... you want tanks to do less damage so you can be lazy and not use a single skill? How does that make sense?Expecting other roles to manage aggro just so they can stay out of tank stance and dps is not actually in anyone's job description. I don't think anyone is saying "I'm not going to use my Enmity Reduction abilities".
What I believe they mean to say is that they wont stop doing damage for the sake of Tank being allowed to DPS Stance.
I've sometimes seen DPS Stance Tanks get mad at me for attacking and taking agro from them, even though I've been dutifully keeping Diversion on cooldown.
Tanks like this do exist.
Now, suppose you've done your part as a DPS to use Diversion (or equivallent) to keep your enmity down. Is it your responsibility to actually STOP doing your DPS Role for the sake of a Tank to maintain their Tank role while being in DPS Stance? Is this actually beneficial to a party? Reduced DPS Role DPS for more Tank Role DPS?
Sadly, if you just want to get the Dungeon or whatever done, you may need to do just that to reduce conflict. Tanks have a lot of power over the pacing of an activity.
Greetings and salutations, adventurers.
That isn't even what we are referring to. Tanks still have a baseline of aggro to keep. What we ARE talking about is someone deciding they can be lazy and not hit lucid and/or diversion when needed. Tanks can do their part and still lose aggro because someone thinks they can get away with not using skills.I don't think anyone is saying "I'm not going to use my Enmity Reduction abilities".

Two way street.
LOOK at their phrasing. "Expecting other roles to manage aggro" is what they said. They are literally talking about not being responsible with their own aggro.

Expecting other roles to manage aggro just so they can stay out of tank stance and dps is not actually in anyone's job description. Is actually what I said. If you can stay in DPS stance and keep enmity then I've got no argument. If you can't, then you can adjust by going back into tank stance or enmity combos or... whatever. Aggro dumping is for when there's some reason why the tank has lost aggro and you're suddenly about to be Enemy Number One. It's not something you should be having to hit every time it's off CD while your tank is whaling away in Defiance or Blood Sword (unless you've got a party that's prepared for that--I know you need all the DPS you can get in high-end). I'm tired of this thing going around where you're suddenly a crappy tank if you can't stay in DPS mode or if you use enmity combos. It's making inexperienced tanks do really stupid things because that's what they think is expected.
Aggro dumping is a stop-gap to not dying. It is not there to empower tanks. If a tank is struggling, then yes, the party needs to adjust. But if that tank is struggling to live up to the hype instead of doing their job, well... My enmity skills (or skill, depending on the job) are essentially for ME, and have a long cool-down. Good luck.
So this happened... I was running shisui with my new glam and this happened. I don't really have any words to express how I feel right now....

Looks kind of like the reverse of how I've done my character. Made my female Elezen as boyish as I could.
As far as the "accused" players.

IDK? Looks pretty normal for today's standards.
Greetings and salutations, adventurers.
