lv60 Black Mage Rotations?

Hey,

Heading to Stormblood and my BLM is lv60 at the moment. What are the good and simple starter rotations for the class? For single target? And AoE situations?

Every guide I find is about lv70 rotations and they are quite different to lv60 and have more spells to use. All lv60 guides are outdated and dont match the current state of BLM with all the changes.

Anyone can help?

It's pretty much just the level 70 rotation, minus foul.

I can't quite remember if you toss in a blizzard 1 after the opener to get full mp tics before the f3 however. So after that opener, possibly b3 b4 t3 b1 f3, unless you saw your MP tic would be fast enough to not need the b1.

After that opener though, it's just f3 f4x3 f1 f4x3 b3 b3 t3 (b1 maybe?) Repeat

For aoe, I don't remember if it's more worth to use just flare, or use f2 as well. At 68, you'll only use flare.
Aoe, b3 t4 b4 f3 spam a few f2's until you have just enough for flare, transpose repeat. Only do aoe on 4+ targets. If 3 or less, do single target.

Flare-only would be more if not for shorting the duration of Thunder II by one or two ticks. Because Thunder2-Fire3-Fire2-Fire2-Flare-Transpose gives Thunder2 enough time to tick completely, it outdamages Thunder2-Fire3-Flare-Transpose.

But yeah at 68, definitely skip the Fire2s and just Flare-Flare.

b4 is kind of strange. its more of a tool to ensure you have maximum mp to cast 6 f4's (as during your blizzard phase depending on mp tic timing, you generally need 3 gcd's. like b4, t3, foul. or at 60 b4 t3 b1). if you're given a scenario where you can skip it, and it not mess up your fire rotation afterwards, and the one after that, you can skip it and do only 5 f4's for a slight gain. But that kind of scenario requires instant mp proc, and thundercloud procs as well. and at 70 ensuring you'll have foul ready for the following blizzard phase when you'll likely have too low mp to cast b4. in general, its not a bad spell though. skipping b4 requires a little thought, but using it every rotation wont lose you much and keep your dps reliably high without requiring much thought and reaction.

In general to skip b4 is a minimal gain with mild risk, and still requires rng to even think about doing. and messing it up once by needing to wait for an mp tic will outweigh any gain you obtained. In general I'd say it isn't worth it unless you're extremely comfortable with blm and the fight you're in.
