Anyone else having a hard time with -ara spells?

I don't understand your plight. -ara spells have nearly triple the recast as normal-tiered spells.

but my action bar is saying they are available, so i hit the spell but i constantly get "Thundara cannot be used right now" which im not getting on any other spells other than -ara spells.

because of that i have to try to spam the spell until it goes off.

ive also noticed the lack of the charge bar appearing when the spell finally does go off.
it seems instant after getting "thundara cannot be used right now" a good 3 or 4 times. this is why im having a hard time completing any combos.
