If also like to add, as a tank main, while hear is important and should be updated per content you're doing, it is especially important that tanks update their weapons asap. While it is the most important thing for every job.... it is especially important as a tank
Something to also consider, if you are running content at level with at-level gear and the DPS paired with you are synced, they could simply be ripping from you due to gear discrepancy. I'm not defending people pulling ahead of you, but simply ripping during a boss or trash pull could be due to gear. Even with DPS using aggro reduction skills.I finally started learning Tanking (that wretched Tanxiety had me all sorts of afraid to try it out) and I realized that I don't have Tanxiety, I have Tankger. Maaaaajor anger. I can't handle the dps pulling aggro from me and pulling mobs all dungeon long. Like, did you do Hall of Novice? Did you do any sort of research on party dynamics--why are you the way that you choose to be? I dunno how many times I have to tell dragoons: It is not a contest. We are literally supporting you so you can get the most damage per second at positions you need to make happen. I hold it, you punch it. I'm the big slow goon, you're the deliverance of sweet sweet damage per second. IF you want to tank, then for the love of GOD, just go tank. No one cares that you're pulling aggro--most people know well enough by now that if you're purposefully pulling aggro to prove your damage is higher than the tanks, you're an idiot and dont understand party mechanics. It just slows us down and causes mayhem.
According to the Lodestone, neither of your tanks are level 30 yet, meaning you do not have your job stones, tank stances, and - in the case of MRD/WAR, at least, a full enmity combo to try and combat gear differences. Tanking as a class against synced level 70 jobs can be a Royal PITA sometimes.

Just got into a Castrum Abandia with a really difficult tank. I say that because they wouldn't progress through the dungeon until our SMN said HI to them in PT chat. It went to the SCH forcing pulls, me tagging them and dying instantly. Squish and the tank picking them up after. No one was from the same server - I expected someone to vote kick but they never did. So we went through the whole dungeon with the tank poking the SMN asking if it was a bot or not - complaining that they hate anti-social people and this is an MMO.
SMN finally speaks on 2nd boss to say he doesn't feel like talking.
Tank harasses them and says type hi or I'm not pulling.
I tell the tank falsely that SMN said hi and he missed it.
We continue on lol.
Soon after SMN replies, I'm not a he but okay w/e.
Now the tank is harassing them again. oh lord well never get done.
At final boss, the tank calls SMN retarded and must have no friends.
I tell him to that's incredibly rude - just play the game.
Tank insists his gameplay is ruined unless all PT members are talking. Meanwhile, the SCH is pulling the boss.
I get flattened again pulling it off them.
At the end, tank dies and doesn't accept raise instead goes back to start. Boss goes for me I die, SCH raises me but SMN finishes it with some kiting.
I tell him to lay off not everyone is a puppeteer and will humor him. Just play the game and left before any response.
But oh my god it was terrible.
Kudos for finishing that... pug life can be roughJust got into a Castrum Abandia with a really difficult tank. Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.
If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your nextexciting adventurehealer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.
Mentor Roulette o/
But didn't want to leave because usually when one drops/ the Tank or Healer leaves instantly. Leaving the dps stranded who actually waited in the queue for 8 years.
Edit2 : Probably why they ultimately didn't kick him. They were all new.
edit3: wording is bad , i fail at typing.

Not necessarily a story but I wanna gush about the Bard job for a bit xD.
It was around half a month ago where I got my BRD up to level 70 and got some scaevan/omicron and augmented Ryumakyu gear for it alongside Tsukiyomi's bow(working on getting more scaevan and omicron gear to replace the Ryumakyu ones tho that'll take sometime). And the moment I started using it in alliance raids and high end content like EX battles and savage raids is when I absolutely adored the job
What it might lack in raw DPS compared to melee and casters makes up for it in utility. From administrating buffs and managing your songs to combining your rotation with DoT effects,it is a very involving and active job and it's so much fun to use.Heck it's the job I used for my Deltascape V4 savage clear and I'm so glad I did.
But my favorite part about BRD is it's mobility, from my experience so far it's the job that allows the most freedom in movement as you can move and dodge while doing your rotations and managing your songs and it gives you so much room to breath and dodge AOEs(well Foe's Requiem is an exception since it's the only thing that uses MP).
Also, having a pair of Bard and Dragoon in a party is always a plus no matter what especially since you can take advantage of DRG's piercing debuff
Some of my best performances in raids and dungeons were as a BRD,with one of my best runs being in the Aetherochemcical Research Facility dungeon where all three players with me gave me player comms.
While Dragoon is my favorite DPS job(and my favorite FF job in general)...I'm seriously considering BRD to become my new main job. It's just so much fun to use

Stormblood BRD is absolute perfection. Hoping it stays just as it is going into ShB. It doesn't need much in terms of tweaks. Not necessarily a story but I wanna gush about the Bard job for a bit xD.

I heard that BRD used to be OP back in Heavensward and now I can see why
This job is magnificent and I hope it stays as good as it is now in Stormblood when transitioning to Shadowbringers. It doesn't need much changes to be honest, maybe a few tweaks to the DPSing rotation like something alongside straight and heavy shot beside Refulgant Arrow maybe but thats about it
HW BRD was completely different from SB BRD. It was OP because the developers kept buffing it from 3.2 onwards alongside MCH. Plus, piercing was 10% back then.I heard that BRD used to be OP back in Heavensward and now I can see why

I don’t even think it needs an extra skill to go alongside SS and HS. I’d rather keep the priority rotation over a 1-2-3. At most, a tweak to Army’s Paeon would be far more preferable, but hardly necessary.

Which is why there is a decent chance of nerfs. Machinists unsucessfully compete with bard mostly (and even some non-ranged dps), and having a DRG+BRD combo seem crucial doesn't help the case for keeping things as-is. Sure, they could try to create more cool job combos while buffing or reworking weaker jobs, or, you know, they could reduce what BRD brings to the table. With Tactical Points going away there could be lots of rethinking of jobs that use TP and MP anyway.I heard that BRD used to be OP back in Heavensward and now I can see why
