SE: Can we get back skip cutscene in Main Scenarios?

Newbie here. Well, mostly. Been subbed for a month and a half now.
Seeing the cutscenes for the first time all I wanted was to press the skip button.
They are excruciatingly long and a pain to sit through, only made worse if I am trying to get my hands on that much needed Genesis.
Going without running Castrum and its agonizingly boring thrice as long deformed sibling means I am effectively forced to either play PvP or never miss a single one of the other dailies every day for every week to top up fully. Never have I met a single newbie who thought otherwise, perhaps due to being on Chaos, but regardless...

I support giving people the choice to skip the cutscenes if they so want to.
This stuff gets painfully dull... and it's dull for nine people out of ten from what I have seen.

You don't care cutscenes so everyone doesn't need to see them...

Following your logic, I don't savage raid so all savage raids must be removed from the game, right?

Think not. If the skip option returns, attached to it there is the harassment of who doesn't skip, and final result is them always skipped or get kicked.

Deal with it. You cannot skip, the rewards are the ones you see in duty info, your choice if queue or not.

Yeah, you did build a strawman actually. No one suggested removing Savage raids.

Anyway, if harassment was truly that big of a deal, then the GM's should be more than equipped to handle it. Also, yeah I won't queue for it, the time to reward ratio is terrible.

On another note, is "Deal with it" the hot quote these days? Seems like everyone is using it on these forums.

It was so much a big deal that the devs gone to the extent to change the game, change the involved duties and make all the cutscenes there unskippable, for the sake of all new players that were kicked out or harassed for looking at them. What other proof do you need? Mr. Yoshida knocking at your door to explain you why they done that and why they will NOT change back this policy?

As long as you like common forms, asking main scenario cutscenes skippable again is just beating a dead horse.

You should cool it with your attitude. Harassment isn't an issue the devs should have to fix, making the cutscenes unskippable to stop harassment was completely unnecessary considering GMs often take issues of harassment pretty seriously.

As to your dead horse comment, people will complain about things they don't like, you should stop being so offended by that.

It wasn't harassment but people simply refusing to wait regardless. By Stormblood even DPS could handle the packs and live through them. Most groups simply told new players to enjoy the cut scenes while they murdered stuff. Did you see some jerks? Of course. What prompted the change is new players wanting to partake in the actual fights and watch cut scenes, which just wasn't going to happen. Now a better solution would be to make it so if you unsync either Castrum or Prae, you can skip cut scenes, thereby letting people who couldn't care less about the story to move on. Regardless, people have dealt with it. I've heard queue times have steadily increased for MSQ since no one wants to do it.

And your initial reply was, indeed, a strawman. It had absolutely nothing to do with the argument.

The guy never said that everyone else should have to skip the cs too, so no, you're not quite following his logic.

That's the problem. It isn't possible to let some people skip the cutscenes while still letting others watch them. Either the run moves forward or it doesn't. It cannot simultaneously do both. That's why, when the cutscenes were skippable, it was impossible for anyone to actually play the dungeon as designed, and see the climax of the story. So saying "let's let people skip if they want to" is functionally equivalent to saying "let's force everyone to skip, and eliminate the story from the game entirely." That's what was happening the whole time they were skippable, and it's what would happen again if they reverted back to it. And it's why they won't, and shouldn't, revert back to it.
