Because people who had multiple houses spread across alts were grandfathered in when they locked housing to accounts. Until they basically come out and force hoarders to give up multiple plots, nothing will change. This is a problem indeed, and I'm afraid that the FFXIV Team isnt doing anything about it. There's someone that is currently hoarding the Mist right now and owns more than half of a ward. I reported it, but the person is still there. What is worse is that a few of my friends were trying to nab a house and of course, its the waiting game before you can purchase if you are a new at owning a plot. This same person decided to swoop in, out of his/her own comfort ward to buy a house my friend was going to purchase in a different ward location.
How is this happening? Why do you still let it happen?
