I could, but I won't.
Skyskip you might be a popoto but I still support you and this thread!

We will not die, we will not surrender.

At least nearly 130 people voted for this, which shows that there are quite some people here that want it in other content. Also its much higher than the ones that completely liked it. I know that this forum is not showing the whole playerbase but I do believe that this might be a good hint that more wanted it as a normal job and not some mini game. (Maybe some of us would have less problems with it, if SE was known for regularly patching all the side content and not letting most of them die off or barely getting anything new)
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
So much this besides the last statement. At least nearly 130 people voted for this, which shows that there are quite some people here that want it in other content. Also its much higher than the ones that completely liked it. Those of us that are active on the forums obviously make up a small portion of the whole player base. I'd bet that most don't really care that much about blu and limited jobs. They will play them till they are done then set them down until there is an update. Will that boost sub retention during patches? Maybe a bit. Then add in that some of those will be mad about the restrictions on the job WITH those of us that are already mad. Some like myself are boycotting the job/game over this choice of design direction. The part of the player base that will enjoy this content enough that it keeps them subbing to play it after finishing the Carnival is going to be quite small. So do you think that SE will continue to support content that might get them an extra month of some players subbing or put the resources towards something else that they think will net them better sub retention? This is why I don't understand why the side that supports limited jobs doesn't try to meet us in the middle instead of being hardliners that will rather risk the content not being supported in the future. I've seen so many on the other side say things like "I wasn't excited for blu until after the live letter" which sounds like they would have been happy if it had been freelancer or some unique job to 14 as long as they got content like this. Most on my side were the "please add blue mage!" and we are not satisfied with what they have done. They made a mistake in our eyes and hopefully they realize this and make blu and future jobs as FULL versions in addition to the side content that a lot of the community wants.

Keep it goin'!

I'm not active on the forums, but this has been bothering me ever since I came back from fanfest. I have been to every Fanfest, and I can say solidly that this is the only one I've come back from more disappointed than excited.
I'm worried about what the Limited Job System says. Because to me it says they're not willing to try and find the compromise between a Job's legacy and its performance and balance in the mechanics of Final Fantasy XIV anymore.
That they'd rather just limit it and give us their replay of an old horse's tricks rather than produce something that might not work.
I was torn at that very BLU announcement at the Live Letter and all its details, between simply standing up and leaving, or trying to do something about it. I chose to sit there, and start drafting mechanical concepts for a mechanically compatible Blue Mage.
To be clear, I love BLU. I love the visual design. I love the learning of abilities, both from the past and the concept now, and the Carnivale seems like a great idea I wish there was some form of for every job. But that's the catch. This is only for BLU, and the tradeoff is it becoming infinitely more difficult if not impossible for them to participate in a majority of the content that will be enthralling the community.
I don't want the Limited Job System to become something that stifles the ability for players to work with each other. I don't want my, or anyone else's favorite job to become a single player sideshow in a very blatantly multiplayer game.
That's how a lot of us feel. That they made excuses for things instead of putting in the time to figuring how to make blu work in the full game. That they basically said we have seen the limits of their creativity and their best work and shouldn't expect things to get better. OR they just decided to shoehorn blue mage into the "open world and side content" that some of the player base has been asking for and they decided to cut corners with blue mage so they could link it to that content and wouldn't have to bother with making a full job. Both are pretty bad and are not good signs for the game's future.I'm not active on the forums, but this has been bothering me ever since I came back from fanfest. If you want to share some of those ideas you made up during the live letter or some other time, then share them here.
