Viera Race "Confirmed" for 5.0! Are you gonna change races?

I'd have no problem with such a race so long as both the male and the female were beasts.

In any case, as good as diversity is, I can understand why SE isn't in a hurry to make a beasty race. Numbers have shown that the least pretty races happen to be the least played. Making a new race takes time, effort and resources; naturally SE would like to invest on a new race that the majority want to see, instead of catering to the vast minority.

Isn't there 2 clan ver. for each race. I'm hoping that 1 clan the tall "FFXII Fran" design and another clan the small cute design.

The clans only really have a difference with the Hyur. Every other race just has minor changes like skin or eyes, and occasionally facial features.

I don't think I'll change over. I prefer playing one of the few Hyur in my FC and amongst my friends.

yes but you should support the minority of your comunity hence why pvp,raids keep getting made
yes majority of the community likes there basic barbie doll miqote,hyurs and au ra but should appeal to those who dont

I won't change if the females are all petite and have the sort of cute, girly animations au ra females have. I've got a fem miqo'te alt to fill that niche and I like her too much to change.
If we get a tall, amazonian race, where the females look like Fran, then I'd definitely be tempted.

i probably change if they look good and only if there is a subrace with a height between lala and au ra. always wanted to get rid of the potato proportions, but au ra is already too tall for my taste xD

Personaly, FFXII has been my favorite since it came out as I am a huge fan of Ivalice (Vagrant Story, FFT) so, to have the raids in FFXIV was already an emotional rollercoster and now i cant wait to create my Viera!
Even if its just for female characters, im ok with that, but i doubt they will do that.

How about you guys, any Ivalice / Viera fans here? Do you think its gonna be female only like many speculate?

I just came back to the game and have tons of those race change things somewhere. So yeah.

But it's possible. It would've been a much harder case to argue if Midlanders and Highlanders were just pallet swaps of each other like the other races, but they're not. For a race that was said to more or less be the last race added to the game, I should hope they'd do at least this much, and separate the two, especially since both are requested.

I totally agree with this and sincerely hope it's the case. They've had concept art since 2013, and one of the pieces had a 5.0 design on the shield. It makes me hope that maybe they've been working on Viera the whole time, maybe that's why there wasn't a new race in Stormblood, and maybe they're really investing a lot of time and effort making two distinct clans that will leave everyone happy.
I'm feeling really optimistic about that. But we'll just need to wait and see.
