In Haukke Manor, I was a DRK. The entire time, the healer refused to heal me at all even though I kept pulling and holding aggro. She kept saying in the chat "GET IN TANK STANCE" I wasn't aware how to do that, because I was quite new to the job. Finally, at the last boss fight, another party member said "Do you see Grit in your skill bar?" So I used Grit and the healer finally decided to heal me. I think maybe if someone had explained that to me instead of screaming TANK STANCE, then that run would have went much better.

The thing is, Haukke Manor normal is one of the dungeons you can still get away with NOT using Tank Stance... if you're decently geared. At that level all Tank stance really does is lower your DPS. Additional caveat is that Blood Price is level 35 for DRK. Since you lose access to Blood Weapon with Grit up that means your only way to get mp back is to do Syphon Strike... But since you don't have access to Souleater until level 38 that means you have to do your WEAKER combo to replenish MP, further lowering your DPS since you have to forego your 3 hit combo. w/o Grit up you can still use Blood Weapon with Power Slash combo and Unleash spam to hold hate and Defensive CDs to survive beginning of battles when the most things are hitting you.

I had this happen to me too when it was my first time playing a tank job. People kept telling me to go into tank stance and I thought they meant having my weapon unsheathed at all times. In the end the party kicked me. I was on PLD so if someone at least said shield oath I would know that it was an ability. Sad part is I learn about playing jobs from discovering this forum and reading this very thread.

Was doing o12 for my weekly drops;

Co-tank wants to MT phase 1 so I let them. They due to the first tank buster, I immediately initiate the standard saving tank swap procedure and continue as you would when replacing the MT. Except, the bloke kept trying to take aggro back with weakness and in doing so ignoring mechanics and continually dying. We managed to clear the dps check only for them to die to the first meteor drop>tank buster combo.

Amazing healers got them back up and he retook his add but obly died in the same fashion again.... prompting healers to lb3, which then led to the same thing again and eventually a wipe as M slowly picked off the people.

Proceed to wipe 3 more times into a vote abandon ;(

In Eurika noone would accept me into parties because I guess 28 is too low a level. So progression there is still aggrivating.

On a lighter note. I'm now at 215 cards and only 6 dungeon cards are left!

Had a unique one the other day i almost forgot to share. Doing expert for tomes/khloe wanted a level 70 dungeon. Arboretum(hard). I think it was DRK and WHM, but im not possitive as this was like a week ago... my BLM and SAM for DPS. Tank is doing the standard pulls and the healer is doing just fine keeping everyone up(he seemed comfortable leaving people at roughly half health for kinda long stretches of time, but if no one dies than i couldnt begin to care - didnt notice if he was doing any significant damage). The bosses went a little longer then id like, but the SAM's gear was lower then mine so they were probly a newer level 70(not having leveled SAM i couldnt speak to the quality of their rotation). Again, not worried. What struck me as unique, was that several times throughout the dungeon i noticed he was Goading me while i was doing my AoE rotation. Did he mean to target the tank? Did he forget or not know that casters use MP rather then TP(for now)? Did he think it was funny? Was he mad at me for not doing it back(i obviously dont have goad, but i also didnt think to mana shift him if this was some sort of joke)? I have no idea, as he never said a word. But i can now say that my mage has been goaded. Weird.

I had done it as a lvl28 gladiator and marauder, before I could even unlock my job, without losing hate. Originally paladins didn't even have tank stance at lvl30.

If someone tells anyone else to use tank stance in that dungeon then they clearly have no idea what they are talking about. Bonus points on incompetence if it's the healer saying it.

It's a shame you couldn't have told the healer off for his/her incompetence since you didn't know anything of such at the time.

And if the person on the dark knight reached the final boss without being healed...I'm going to say that they did far better than just "good enough", meaning that the healer was holding everyone back from having a super smooth and fast run.

Mostly good runs today, and people all nice.

Weird though in Fractal hard. Hadn't been in it since it came out, so I had a bit of an issue. Mostly it was the "heal or do mechanics?" type conundrum, plus being rusty, so I take lots of blame for a couple of wipes. Definitely deserve a good share of that. Especially since I had previously changed the keybinds but haven't committed them to muscle memory.

But I noticed while on the ground the Red Mage wasn't healing or rezzing. Eventually the two DPS bailed, two replacements came in, no more wipes and a smooth run the rest of the way. Oh well. Sorry to the two that left, thanks to the two replacements. And nice job new to the duty tank.

I was the horror story today in alphascape v2. My attention span of a goldfish made me screw up two healer lb3 that probably wouldn't even really help us clear, because quite frankly everybody kept on standing in the bad, but I was the healer left alive every time and just blew it because my brain's loading gauge was a bit too long and the time to cast it super short, because every time it happened there was the stacking marker with nobody to stack with x.x So it was more like "oh crap, I should lb-SPLAT." The whole party was so out of sync with everything it was just so baaaad and I felt like the worst healer ever lol. To the poor MT drk there - sorry mate, I'm usually not that bad, I swear.

The past several duty roulettes I've run so far in the past three days I've replaced a healer that bailed. I'm starting to wonder if this is payback for the one time I had to bail on that one horribad tank back in Quarn normal five months back...that was wearing lvl 15-20 gear...that wasn't using any sort of tanking abilities...and was mass-pulling...

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind helping parties in progress, but I have to wonder as to why the previous person bailed 3/4 of the dungeon through when the rest of the party seems to be completely fine.
