Viera Race "Confirmed" for 5.0! Are you gonna change races?

Even if only female Viera will be implemented, I am sure the community will shake up even hell to make YoshiP and the dev team create them after all.
I only see one solution and that is, it will be implemented or it will be implemented. They cant run away

Depends on how they look and how their emotes are. Been playing lala for the greater part of these 5 years and I've grown attached to my little fella. That said, even if I don't fantasia into a viera, I'll probably still make an alt and mess around with it a bit.

how would people feel if Viera was female only and Ronso were male only?

I'd be surprised to see such a thing in FFXIV. As a female, I feel very comfortable in this game because it caters to both male and female gamers (unlike tons of other games where female characters are taken straight out of males' fantasies, while the male characters are plain ugly). So far, SE has cared to give us both cool male and female characters, so I'd be quite disappointed if they derailed from that route.

I don't say I won't consider changing to Viera at all though. If they implement a big and a small Viera race and if the small ones have cute animations like Au Ra, it's not impossible that I will change to them. If it's only big Viera, then I'm 99% sure I won't change. It's not that I don't like Viera, but I rather play a small and cute female. ♪

That said, BlueFever did say Veira and Ronso..? Maybe it'll be an animal like race with Veira and Ronso as 2 different clans. But that's me being hopeful, it seems like most people want the choice between tall waifu and small waifu.

There is also apparently evidence to suggest that in the FF RPG Viera and Mithra are related races, and Viera is the main race with two feline sub races. I can't confirm this; however, I found this out on reddit from a guy called Ragnosk. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...ogle/?sort=new

I'm honestly surprised they haven't gone the Final Fantasy tabletop RPG route. Viera and Miqo'te are the same in that universe. Viera is the overall race, with two sub races. More common is the forest race with long rabbit ears, and the other sub race tend to live in jungles have feline characteristics, and commonly called Mithra or Miqo'te. You can get the pdf free on the r/ffrpg reddit. Viera is talked about on page 23.

Obviously isn't the same canon, but the does exist in some Final Fantasy established lore that Viera and Miqo'te are the same race. Not sure if the Tactics games went that route, cus I know Viera are playable in the Advance games.

Moogles can also be played in the tabletop too, and are sometimes warriors in the Crystal Chronicles universe. But I can see how armor and MMO mechanics might not take kindly to small fuzzballs.

Anyway, I will not make a Viera if the sub race isn't a more monstrous looking race. I understand people who want Feol in Ravenant Wings as a sub race which I quote:

while not said outright on size the description of "could be mistaken for a hume" was used, which also implies hight with the only feol we meet being smaller then vaan in some artwork as well dosnt help but with the models in ff12 they were taller then Vaan and the cast, so its going off those visuals mainly were talking at most a possible couple of inches either way

Meaning that they're pretty much Miqo'te with coat of rabbit fur, and people want the small version of concept art which looks like Miqo'te children to me.





It would be nice to finally have a race that truly adds some form of diversity instead of catering to the same people who already quite satisfied with their options. Of course, I'm talking about people who are unsure to fantasia or not, who are like, "Well I like my current race but I also like Viera", and people who might switch for a little then go back.

If a more bestial sub race occurred (Which is a possibility) I wouldn't even have to think a split second about changing and I'm sure a lot of people who keep complaining (such as myself) that they're disappointed with the racial options will finally have something we can play and enjoy the game with. I'm tired of adding horns and hooves, ears, feet to my characters to make them more monstrous well losing out on many of the glamour options this game provides.

Sadly, me and others can clamor of what we're hoping for the sub race to be compared to the amazon looking Viera; however, that decision has already been made and we possibility won't be able to see them until the other fan-fest. So I'll say, "Good luck to either side."
