I’m giving my support as well since I have zero interest in limited jobs and think the concept will be terrible for the game. I have yet to hear any reasons that would convince me that blue mage could not work in 14 as a job that works in the full game. We were told the same about rdm and it has been generally well received. I love the job although I wish it had slightly more melee going on.
I have wanted to main blu (full game not limited) for 5 years now. For the people saying how can we be against the idea before trying it, I could love the open world bit and the Carnival but https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=rnzMkJocw6Q.
That's how I will always feel deep down so I will not be renewing my sub as long as this concept is part of the game.

They will be monster moves, stuff that we've already seen but never used before, and by how they talked about them; they'll be uncapped. Like, if you can use Death Level 5, you could one-shot a monster if it lands properly. 1000 nails will do 1000 damage, or even 10.000 nails, who knows. So I guess the skills won't be a coat of paint, but they'll be unique/useful skills.
If BLU was another generic job, the skills would really be a coat of paint because they would be capped skills to fit a generic rotation with flashy effects (press 1, 2, 3, then 1, 4, 3 and repeat the loop again for 10+ minutes).
I think it's still too soon to talk bad about this new system. It can bring a lot of new stuff if applied properly.

Going to do a copy/paste here from a post I made a bit ago. To answer your question, I don't want the FFV blu they have put in the game to be removed but I do want a version of blu that can be used in the full game.
"They can use the elemental weakness as a mecanic, you use a fire element spell to grow up a debuff on the monster and consume it with a wind spell for additonal damage per exemple, force to rotate between different duality whith cooldown on the "stack consumer"..
Man, I love that idea. Made me think of what I hoped samurai would use a system sorta like skillchains on XI. That instead of combos, there would be the same initial starter, then like three mid combo moves, and then two finishers. The middle combo moves would be like the royal road effects and either boost, spread, or lengthen the effect of the skillchain. The finishers then would be the typical large finish or smaller finish with a DoT. The "lengthen" effect for the large finisher could be some debuff that you could consume like your fire -> wind idea. So you have to make choices in combat to do things like "I should combo a spread DoT" or "I need to consume my stacks on the target".
I like the idea of two job crystals for blue mage. "Carnival Mage" can be the announced iteration (FFV blu) with the limits and the supposedly crazy solo capabilities. "Blue Mage" then can be the XIV version, hell it wouldn't even have to be a ranged caster, with a proper rotation or gameplay gimmick that makes it different than what we have now and be used in the full game. The dev team has done overall very good with their own versions of the classic FF jobs with a few misses but those have also become better with time after listening to feedback.
For a full version of blu, they could do something similar from another game. If anyone has played Legend of Legia 2, do you remember the girl with the elemental magic? If you just spammed the elements they barely did any damage but there were many many combos depending on which elements and which order they were performed in. That's something they could do here for blu gameplay/rotation. Just give each offensive blu spell an elemental affinity and make combos like I described from that other game as the base rotational stuff and then the ogcds would be spells like bad breath or aqualung. The mechanic could be like a very expanded mudra system where you trigger your built up elemental combo or be the actual job gauge to track and then the elemental explosion happens as you finish the "spell combo".

Well actually, the double crystal idea can be cool! Raid mode with the typical rotation with BLU-ish mechanics, and the "Carnival BLU" with all the BLU skills uncapped.
The more the better! But if I had to choose, I'd still rather the 49+ skills BLU D:
I hope they come up with something after the 4.5 BLU "test" and bring something better at 5.0

My other idea would be that if they designed a full blu and then it was ready to be patched in, in the patch they also include in the DF settings "limited job mode" so then people that want the broken abilities and solo still have the option. I'm not sure what would happen with open world blu though. Would it be full blu or carnival blu?
As I've told some others when they said I want to have my cake and eat it too.
"Yep and I want the solo players to have cake and Yoshi be the Oprah of cake and if some cake taste bad then we can let them know and hopefully it tastes better next time."
I want full blu and I also want players that want the solo experience to have their thing as well. I believe it could happen. If the devs came out next week and told us that they were working on these things and they needed time but couldn't give an estimate patch for it to be completed that would be fine.

This is sadly not the case. During liveletter you were able to see that you can pick 20 of 49 skills.
Meaning, even with level cap increase and skill increase to lets guess 100 different blue mage skills, you would still be capped. That term hence is not right.
Ps: i still dont get people going this far and cancel their sub, show off in the OF, to 'influence' the dev team. Its kinda a childish act but whatever, 5.0 story looks amazing!

Cause you have to vote with your wallet when it comes to businesses. If the company finds out the reason you unsubbed and lost them money is the fact that you were disappointed in Blue Mage, and enough people do it to really hurt them. They'll notice and MAYBE make a change to it. If you just don't play it they might just say "we'll people don't have an interest in it so let's just not do anything with it" like they are doing with diadem.
