This was literally never going to happen and I am lol'ing at every single person who is ever mad about wasted potential. Way to make up some nonsense in your head and then angrily post about it when your head canon doesn't pan out. Hilarious.

My class fantasy is Korpokkur Collossus does ddr and I am mad as heck that it's just a mount! SE really missed an opportunity here. Such wasted potential, smh. Would have turned the game around for the dozens of us. DOZENS!!!

This is wasted potential I don't get how it isn't they wasted time on a lot of features here for the new xpac but the biggest is BLU it's spending hours, time, money, on this idea that could be great! But instead we get a carnival ride that's a tilt a whirl but it only goes around half and then stops. I agree with Shurrikhan this was SEs time to change up the classes, class identity, leveling, combat but all this was wasted for a class that can't even be called a true class because it goes against XIVs design.

You can't do open world leveling in this game without an open world the experience is just gonna be Eureka but you can't even do HW or SB content you're stuck at ARR until they decide when you can have fun again, this wasn't innovative this was a step backwards.

My one head-canon iteration is of course expendable. The technicals of any one individual's head-canon is expendable. But the general scope of a playerbase's expectations is not. That's why we actually have words like "clickbait"; sometimes, the greater oddity is not the expectation, but the sheer disparity between the main title and the contents of the piece beneath it.

Now, sure, we could say that they later confirmed just how limited the job actually would be, minimizing any betrayal of expectations (especially compared to its original announcement), but the question still remains -- why would you exhaust an option so powerful to do so little? Why is should there be such a difference between announcing BLU, and announcing BLU as they did. One generates tremendous expectations; the other squelches them. That much is obvious. But why would design go from creating a complete flagship product, so to speak, to a mere feature device which cannot even be integrated with any other current technology, while still acting as if the release carries the same impact?

There are no circumstances where SE changes things up in any way that you two seem to want (which is to say, sweeping changes to the general content of the game, they could always change their minds on blu specifically). Hence my general mirth at the complaints. They have absolutely zero incentive to do so other than the handful of nonstop complainers that constitute this entire forum. Their game continues to gain subs and is, depending on how you feel about counting lineage 1, the second or 3rd most successful mmo ever and they are not going to rock the boat by spontaneously dumping their content model.

Also, they are not treating the blu announcement as anything particularly compelling. Which makes sense since blu is the clown job of most games that it's in. If they really thought blu had coolness chops, they would have made it the expansion headliner and not a patch feature.

Actually I would say they treated it as something "compelling." You don't have the ceo of your company come out dressed in a cape during your keynote speech, to announce the direction of the game for the next 2 years, to hype up a job you don't think is supposed to be special and then of course after everyone is hyped up it turns out to just be a mini game. And if you don't want a "handful of nonstop complainers that constitute this entire forum" to complain then you shouldn't be trolling them in every blue mage discussion thread.

I will have you know I am posting 90% sincerely and you can be mad at the devs for creating Eureka, content so boring I have nothing better to do than angry post on their forums.

You're right though, new jobs are compelling for the community (much to my chagrin).

I really start to facepalm at people arguing about the masked carnival and other jobs should get the same treatment.

I mean there is a reason why other jobs wont get that sort of content, because it has no sense to do it.
Exploiting your enemies weaknesses works well on jobs with elements, with different attack types, etc.
Thats why only BLU has the privilege to run it and not other jobs. Beside I can imagine Beasttamer will get the same masked carnival where you have to summon the right pokemons and kill the monster waves.
If you open all jobs the entry for masked carnival, you will take something which has been designed only for a job, in this case BLU.
Dont get me wrong, I actually got convinced that limited jobs are totally crap and should be opened, but dont take away things which make jobs special and get extra side content to it.
You wont need a masked carnival as a paladin or dragoon, just killing mobs without any 'rock-paper-scissor' feature can be done in any content, especially Eureka.

It would be great if people could focus on the important matters right now and that would be having access to endgame content as a blue mage and not come here complaining why they cant do masked carnival with their other jobs.
