Dark Knight Representative

So we now know that DRK will be at least one of the focused jobs for 5.0. Though that could change like it did for 4.0 when Samurai was revealed, bet let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Anyway, since the relaunch, both expansions have had focal characters to represent the "main" job/s of that expansion. Heavensward(3.0) had Estinien for Dragoon, and Stormblood(4.0) has Lyse for Monk and Hien for Samurai. All of these characters were already established prior to gaining "main character status", regardless of it being in job quests (Estinien), through deception (Lyse), or name dropped (Hien) so my question is who will represent the Dar Knight job?

Sidurgu is the most likely candidate, since he is the only real Dark Knight in the game. But, there is another choice, Pipin. While he is now in charge of the Flames, the way he holds the sword he inherited from Raubhan is identical to a DRK. So what does everyone think?

Also as for 1.0 and 2.0. Not sure how to place a "main" job on them nor a character. 1.0 is Archer and 2 0 Warrior, but based on the way the game was both at launch, and at relaunch, these are suppose to show us representing the job, to get us into the "adventure". At least that's my interpretation.

I think it's the other way around. Instead of someone else being the "job representative" in the MSQ, we are the "job representative" this time. No matter what Job the WoL is, they will be the Warrior of Darkness. So the MSQ will probably be focusing on us using Darkness as a power source.

It's kind of a pun like how the Main Job we had in 2.0 was us as a Warrior. The theme of 2.0 was us becoming the Warrior of Light.

I agree, I think this will be more the player character's journey than Stormblood, where we were simply along to get things done. It might even be the inverse of Stormblood!

Given the speculation of Arbert possibly being the voice talking to us in 4.4 (and also possibly the SHB trailer) it could be he ends up switching from WAR to DRK and represents DRK for SHB.

Neither 1.0 or 2.0 had a focal job, and the developers have stated for 3.0, 4.0, and now 5.0 that these expansions have a focal job. The only way a job can get focus is if a main character, important to the story has that job. Sidurgu, Pipin, and Arbert are the most likely candidates. And since someone mentioned it, Arbert makes the most sense now.

While I highly doubt it, but for shits and giggles the old BluFever Leaks mentioned the return of Minfillia. While I highly doubt it as if anything Minfillia might be "born again" and represented by the little girl in the trailer and concepts arts or something, people in reddit started saying that Minfillia might show up as our DRK rep. I highly doubt it (as in I don't think the Minfillia will be joining us on our journey) but it definitely would be a surprise

True we don't know if Arbert is alive, that's what makes him a possibility. And Dark Knight, Warrior of Darkness, and Warrior of Light are all seperate things. Contextually, within the story, we can't be a Dark Knight and the Warrior of Light/Darkness, so an NPC has to be the Dark Knight. Gameplaywise, we can be anything.
