It's interesting between the Japanese and English General Discussion pages

Here a lot of the threads currently on the front page are about the data center move and Blue Mage. However if you look at the Japanese General Discussion front page only a couple/few threads are about the stuff that's happening and on the 1st and 2nd pages there's not a single thread that I saw about the Blue Mage.

Just something that I observed.

I'm under the impression they discuss things off-site. The Japanese don't really use proper forums very much. Mostly imageboards like 2ch instead, I'm led to believe.

That, and what things they DO discuss are typically contained and well-organized. Our forums to them must look like pure chaos 24/7.

They tend to keep such discussions to a single topic. It may well be there, but it's a lot easier to overlook at a glance.

It might also be in the job discussion sections, or something.

Their Blue Mage thread is in the dps forum. They don't have a datacenter move discussion because none of their servers are being moved.

To be fair the Japanese aren't being affected by the Data Center move. Only NA and EU were mentioned, which makes sense as we outnumber the Japanese playerbase at this point. As for BLU they probably are in a wait and see mode as that part of the playerbase tends to be more adaptive than reactive.

I took a glance at the thread and leafed through a few pages. By and large the discussion seems to mirror what is happening here on the English side:

Some people are pleased, some are against, many looked to have a "wait and hope they change it after feedback and testing" opinion. I was also amused at one fellow calling Godbert "Hildapapa" and I wish to use that name more often.

All in all while the location of the discourse is different it would appear, at least on the surface, to reflect the conversation we're having here on the English forums. Honestly not surprising, people are people and Japanese or English there's no gestalt hive-mind of agreement.

P.S. I will say in both English and Japanese there seems to be a significant amount of . . . confusion? That might be the word? People all over are confused by what exactly a Blue Mage can and cannot do. What kind of content a Blue Mage can and cannot enter. It's a new concept so, again, not too surprising and there are some things we do not know but I think overall Square could have communicated this better and with more volume.

Aye just reading the thread that was linked its mostly a positive outlook though there are concerns as well.

Random note here, but I find your signature a bit insulting. Not directly, mind you, but though I get that Lootmaster has a bad rep, there ARE still legitimate LM hosts out there. Though I can't really blame you for thinking otherwise. I mean, I can't get a party for anything if it doesn't come with a material reward because 99% of the playerbase is obsessed with material reward. But there are a few players who are at least fair, and though they are fewer still, there are those who just don't care that much about material reward. And those players don't have any temptation to steal loot. Because they don't really care if they get the loot one way or another.
