You can't make every happy. If every Summoner quit the game because we have had to use silly little pew pew add on pets instead of actually having a real Summoner then a huge part of the population would quit, but that hasn't happened because there are plenty of other things to do and they have hope that some day their job will get it's just desserts. That's like saying you're going to cancel your cable subscription because a channel stopped airing a show that wasn't even released yet. Sounds silly in retrospect.
This is no gift, it's a slap in the face.
