This doesn't feel too different than other players carrying a crafting class into primal fights to get their rare drop to use for furniture or glamour or whatever. I don't think this is inventing some amazing new avenue of player interaction. At worst, it is an annoyance for all involved.

A level 50 Blue Mage, assuming they haven't slacked off on picking up abilities, should be able to contribute to primal fights perfectly fine. A crafter would never be able to pull any weight period.
And if it's already a mindless task that could be AFKed through as some insist, why would the 70/80 players care if a Blue Mage is there to learn something or not?

Why care, indeed? May as well not be there. That's not very meaningful "interaction".

A very large amount of people only really go into party finder groups for very old content when its unsynced and so the most likely case would be a level capped tank or red mage joins to carry the blue mage to get the attack they want thus is asking people to take time out their day to carry a dead weight blue mage.

Ask your FC to help or pay people to carry you is what the future of blue mage looks like it will be.

    And this is bad how?

So you do it with people willing to do it at 50, or even actually 50 themselves? So you do it with people who don't mind helping you get your endgame abilities for the Masked Carnival?

Unless you have a rather large FC you will be at the mercy of the log in times of specific people just to have you bum through content.

This also makes it a requirement of an FC to properly utilize a solo job. Think on that for a moment.

If you're getting carried, it wouldn't take many people. If you're doing it all at level, sure you may need to line things up a little more. But then there's also things like friends? Linkshells? Human interaction?
And, for the record, I'm loving how the thought that it's a solo class is falling apart here. Their endgame is solo, the build up is collaborative.

A lot of people that are not raiders have mentioned their displease with this too, not just raiders. No need to make this about raiders. This is more than that. A job that can't even do casual content normally like any other job.

I don't know about you, but I play with my friends who are playing their own main jobs and having fun in the game with all the new and old things that we get to do together every week. Roulettes, Heaven-on-High, Extreme primals, helping eachother with rotations and leveling classes together, sometimes with 8, sometimes with 4, most often not with full parties so we make do with queuing. I would rather be able to play my favorite job in the series with them and have our "interaction" as you keep pushing it, than forcing them to babysit me for hours while I feel guilty.

I don't think I'd have as much of a problem with the opposite you mentioned. Have the leveling process and ability acquisition be a unique solo journey, but once at max level with a proper loadout, have it be able to experience the full game as any other job and the players behind them.

The build up for blue mage is sitting on your hands for 2-6 minutes as a red mage nukes whatever you want an attack from and not being able to stand on its own feet in group play for 49 levels, not very collaborative.

What human interaction are you poking at? For this game the average human interaction for duties is saying hi and maybe thanks for the run due to party finder description getting the point solidly across for blue mage. And if its with your friends then interaction was already there.
