To me, healer DPS contributing to raid damage, skipping phases, and speeding up clears is just a fact. So I am not sure what threads like these or that particular comment is set out to accomplish.

I'm not Cass so I can't say for sure but I think they're basically poking fun at the old argument that healer dps isn't meaningful or impactful. In this instance the dps the healers did was so considerable it shortened the fight by a ton. That would not be a 6:30 clear without the 10k+ from the healers.

That's what I figured as well, and guess I'm just curious if anyone is actually still saying these things. We debunked the hell out of that argument and getting rid of stance dancing for healers was a huge contributor to that.

In terms of the fast clear in this video, I give credit to everyone. Not just the healers. Hence, my lack of enthusiasm for the post. Huge DPS windows for healers means less MP being spent on raises and hard casted cures, so I applaud the DPS and tanks as well for staying on their feet.

After watching that clear I realize I have a ton of growth to do if I ever wanna be on this level. It was just so beautiful to see that level of technicality though. I thought just using Selene with minimal healing was cool but that was epic.

Personally, I doubt I ever will get anywhere near that level, given that I simply don't have the time to dedicate to getting that good. Still neat seeing it, though I am now internally bleeding from seeing the difference between my best parse and that of the warrior in that vid.

I'm more impressed by those tank's mitigation and self healing than anything. Maybe I'm missing something. Also that AST seems to be doing most of the heavy lifting healing wise and is still dishing out crazy numbers.

The AST did all his healing through his oGCDs so it has no effect on the amount of damage he does. The healers are also the ones that tell tanks and DPS where to use their mitigation abilities. There also is no "self healing" unless you're talking about the DPS bloodbath which is also under the discretions of the healers it's all Selene. It's basically all on the healers to tell tanks and DPS where to use their tools.

According to the logs linked in the video, there was barely any self-healing involved indeed. The Bard and the Ninja used one Second Wind each, Ninja tryharded a bit with Bloodbath... but otherwise the 'best' self-healer was the Warrior with a whopping 60k through Storm's Path. Poor thing, his single Equilibrium use was a 100% overheal!

But yes, the biggest contributor to let them get away with so little healing overall was the great cooldown mapping; pretty much every major raid buster had Addle, Reprisal, Shake it Off, Divine Veil or healer shields running.

Also, holy hell, nearly 80% Balance uptime.
