It's a great alliance raid, you should do it for no other reason than completion/fun. But also yeah, you will still need the coins for upgrade items, and the other little trinkets are nice.

There's a Bacon Bread quest that comes with it that rewards a bunch of Materia.Hey, folks! I just returned after a little break, and I'm curious as to whether I should bother learning and queuing for Ridorana Lighthouse. Most of my gear was 350/360 pieces, though I've replaced a few already with dungeon/tome/Alphascape pieces.
Should I just focus on roulettes and Alphascape, or is there anything worthwhile other than experience from running lighthouse?
Thanks in advance.
Shouldn’t be a high priority atm if you’re already doing alphascape normal and ex roulette. Focus on getting your Suzaku weapon through party finder

Finding a group to practice (and actually progress) is hard enough. Then there's clear parties. And farm parties. Which no one seems to be able to do. With enough patience that magic group will happen, but it's definitely way easier said than done. Glad I was able to get mine. I didn't want to farm that any more than I had to.
You get the coins from there, they will be needed for whenever they release the next 24-man to buy the upgrade items for the Genesis Tomestone gear.
So, I would say, yes. But only for the coins. The place is boring and painful enough to do just once a week.

You would not need to upgrade each piece of tome gear but at most you would want to run it to at the very least get the weapon and augment it (if you have no better weapon already) because certain content has ilv requirements that you would otherwise not meet.
Hell's Kier Extreme for example the ilv requirement is ilv 370
The 2 24 man's however can be very very painful as players tend to make it miserable

To the OP
Here's the skinny... just do it. If you happen to be a Final Fantasy Tactics or FFXII fan, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to do them... the story is actually well done and compelling.
