Technically, we're getting exactly what ARR got - a dose of Hildi with every post-core patch. 2.0->3.0 was just.... 3,000,001 years long

except people complained that it was too long back then and was gated by trials - which was why you didn't see anything in 3.0 for hildy really. Now that it's back in 4.0 people complain again - you can never win.

As an aside, am I the only one who feels that Cyr and Shigure are nowhere near as entertaining as Briardien?

Briardien held his own, was intelligent/entertaining, and he had agency of his own. Cyr and Shigure - who I don't dislike, I'm just not impressed - are just props for Hildy to be ridiculous and to push into odd situations.
