It's a pretty great mock-up, seriously. And I'd love to see handy social features like that, even if Discord has largely eclipsed the need... Maybe if/when considerations for megaservers comes under way they might give social features, the disgustingly long amount of time it takes even to sort online players to the tops of their respective lists, and the launcher UI their due reconsideration.
Edit: Ideally, this persistent and responsive social menu / friends list would have to be available on more than just launcher, of course, for the development to be worthwhile, though.

*(Raises a quizzical eyebrow)*
In order to please the masses, perhaps I should have stayed with Prince Nuada-- one of my test character's name in 1.0 beta? That was too literal and ostentatious but I did like the character in Hellboy 2.
The name "Ramesses" - From Ramesses II, one of the greatest Egyptian Pharaohs. Since childhood, I've been into old classical films and watched "Ten Commandments" starring Yul Brynner as Pharaoh Ramesses... loved the movie and everything about ancient Egypt ever since.
By the way, numerous research historians have confirmed he was not the Pharaoh indicated in the biblical Exodus ...(that was Amenhotep II); nonetheless the movie still remains one of the top ten most financially successful films ever made, grossing over $65 million back in its time which, adjusting for inflation, is over $2 Billion in 2017.
The surname "Atreides" - From House Atreides, one of the prominent Great Noble Houses of Frank Herbert's Dune universe (an epic series I first read when I was about twelve), also eventually watching both the six-part Sci-Fi movie version of 2003 and the old classic 1984 version. Origin of the Atreides name "Atreus" actually ties into ancient Greek history and Homer's "The Iliad"
