This game can seriously do with more FC activities.

There's a discord server that does Diadem like every weekend. Look up Diadem Debauchery if you're interested.

Thanks for the info but I don't use discord and prefer not to if possible. I don't like talking to people I can't put a face to as it confuses me a lot. The more people talking the more confusing it would get for me honestly. I can see it being useful during high end fights for fast directions but I don't do those.

We don't need more FC activities, by their definition, FC activities are just regular activities with gating. What we need is more FC tools. In-game calenders, event management, better recruitment tools and ways to interact with members. I like the idea of achievements and challenge lots because it supports the idea of FC members doing existing content together, which is the area that needs improvement over linkshells.

This stuff already exists in the companion app, it just needs to be in the FC window

You don't need to voice chat with them. Just use the text chat to schedule a run. You could just think of it as kind of a cross-server FC/guild that only does one thing together, Diadem. Honestly I'm not even sure anyone uses voice chat on there.

Barely anyone seems to use discord for the actual talking functionality, in my experience at least.

In FFXIV terms it seems more like a collection of linkshells than anything else.
