Mages and elemental Wands

I don't know SE has the plan to change the current mage's elemental weapon or no.
such as con L48 has Lightning Wind and Fire elemental wands (att M. Pot +4 elemental pot +24)
and also L42 has earth water and ice. (att M. Pot +2 elemental pot +20)
It's pretty impressive dmg boost however only Wind and earth is useful.

Con was lucky.
Thm is in the worse situation. The L48 wand is water band (att M. Pot+22 water pot +11)
However, no one has water spells...
the next best one is lightning at L41 (Att M. Pot +20 thunder pot +10)

I don't think its big issue. However, it means their 1.19 expect for mages are different than 1.20 expect. maybe they need to fix it so item agree with their skills.

water will 'hopefully' affect cures. This can be of benefit to a thm for most obvious reasons. If water potency affects healing magic I'd prefer them to leave mah waterbrand alone.

Don't forget you can stick magic attack and/or elemental potency on 2h staves, so THMs have that route. Of course to get them both on you gotta be lucky but it could probably outclass a brand.

Deli, do you have a water brand currently? (I have one you can borrow if you need to do tests which is why I ask)

I was planning on keeping my Earth-based Wand as my Healing CNJ Wand and Turning my Aero Wand into my CNJ Attack Wand (don't laugh I solo as CNJ a lot)

For THM I honestly was just going to keep my Water weapon until I was sure it wasn't the best.

Also, I'm hoping for Moogle Weapons because they make me happy (and for other ls reasons as well )

I don't think you have to worry about the 'dated' recipes leaving until GLD, ALC, and CUL get their crafting updates completed.

Yeah, but is the healing potency materias going to outweigh water potency+?

That's IF (a big IF) Water = Cure

Also in the argument of offense, wouldn't Ifrit's Cudgel/CON-staff + Mask of the Mortal Hex = +50 Magic Attack Potency = big enough nukes?

Most likely yes. However, Ifrit only seems to like to give me DM...well okay, I got a bow once.....

So anyway, for mages without the rare/ex gears, we still need to rely on the crafted weapons. Plus, a well-crafted and well materia'd weapon has the potential of being better than a Rare/ex drop. (plus crafted is sell-able and that's nice when level cap raises and you no longer need rank 50 gears)

Big KK I do have water brand. I previously did the water brand to cure test. it's not helping at 1.19. I'm going to test again after patch. I'm going to store 5 dated ice and 5 dated fire XD

Well if there are mats you're still looking for, let me know in game. KK doesn't mind gathering but isn't crazy about Data testing :P
