My extremely curious side of me wishes there was a compilation thread where all the people with at least over five retainers post pictures of whatever the hell they're packing so bad in those retainers.

Like, I'm legit curious. I know about token bloats and mat bloat and hell even glam bloat (that one being the most popular) but I'm just super curious about the craft mats needing more than 2 or 3 retainers.

Well storing any and all crafting materials takes up a lot of space my friend. As I said in my post I am a packrat and I hold on a lot of things gear is I can use it for other jobs in if not probly for crafting or for the most Part glamor. Now I just might do that what you suggested create a thread I post pictures of all the stuff in all my retainer's inventory.

Those maximum retainers add up you know...not sure why anyone would want to ludicrously pay that much for all of them.

I do it myself for storage space.

Mat hoarder here. A lot of older mats get reused for airships and submersible vehicles. Same for housing walls. Lots of mats used for culinary are used from any level and I've noticed weaver has started to do the same (as well as goldsmithing, blacksmithing and armorsmithing). I'm also a person that doesn't take joy in going out and requiring to farm an old mat I once had thousands off, but had to sell off because of limited space. One retainer is devoted entirely to holding relic/artifact gear/1 set of armor for a job come expansion so I have gear to level it in. That is where I choose that my time is better spent elsewhere and is readily fixed by a measly $2 per retainer per month ($30 at the worst for me). Instead of going out to eat with my husband just once a month, I've paid for my "super expensive" membership to an online game. Especially when a lot of my off-time is spent actually enjoying my husband's company as well as enjoying games with other friends (and going and participating in FCG tournaments).

For me, it's a decision of:
Time spent with someone I care about > time spent gathering pixels in a virtual world that would save me money per month on a subscription.

You're not a packrat, you're a compulsive hoarder, I bet you don't even need half of those spaces if you actually went through and managed it all better.

Speaking for myself as a 4* omnicrafter with all but 3 DoW at max level, I have 6 retainers (2 base 4 extra) and I've got about 80 spaces spare on each of them. My inventory is never full, my saddlebag is never full, my armoury chest is never full, my glamour dresser is never full. Truth be told I could condense the retainers down into 3 if I really wanted, but I use them for a steady stream of materials all the time.

From what I've seen most people who complain about inventory space use the glamour/materials/tokens excuse. News flash, you do not need to hold on to those Gordian Bolts or those Cobalt Ingots. You need to regularly have a cleanse of glamour you can easily replace (things you can buy with tomes/marks/etc, anything you can reclaim from a Calamity Salvager). Frankly you need to manage yourself better. There are claims our current inventory space isn't enough, yet I challenge anyone who has more than the standard free retainers to come forward and show me exactly why you are short on space, it just shouldn't happen.

6 months to save up 200 bucks really shouldn't be that hard. If you can't afford it you should look at what you're spending and reassess your outgoings. Some people just cannot save and spend it because it is there, if that's you then you should move to monthly then you don't need to worry about saving up. Just be sure it comes out your account when you have funds.
