They were wearing i380 crafted gear—I remember their body and legs specifically were crafted because I examined them to see 1. Why they were doing less damage than an AST while in Deliverance, and 2. Why they couldn’t hold the boss after a swap. If they could afford those, they could afford a crafted i380 weapon, too. At the least, there’s been Ex primals that they could have gotten one from—Byakko, Tsukuyomi... They could have spent 1,000 mendacity and run V8N 4 times and Rabanastre+Ridorana once and gotten an i370 Weapon.
Honestly, there’s no excuse to show up to a Suzaku Ex party with a weapon from the beginning of the expansion.

Well, that was downright embarassing.
On the one hand, i cleared O10s at last.
On the other hand, my performance was terrible, far worse than i usually do.
The people in the party i was in were pretty nice though, so that's something.

I'm still kinda dumbfounded at this.
Had a roulette earlier this week while leveling another character up, got the vault. Had a blm, nin, sch, and pld, which was me. Everything started out fine, until I noticed that mobs weren't going down quickly. First boss took much longer than usual. I checked the blm, thinking it was them. Nope, gear was up-to-date, and they were a first-timer, and they seemed to be doing alright. Checked the sch, theirs was up-to-date, and they were doing their usual dots, heals, faerie healing and groundspells.
Then I checked the nin. She was wearing lvl 50 af gear and 48 weapon. I watched her while avoiding aoes and tanking around mobs; and realized she wasn't even using any aoe, almost no ninjutsu, no shadowfang, no assasinate, just the basic 1-2-3 combo you get pre-30, and she was 57. It filled me with dread.
Second boss was a mess, third boss we actually failed the holy flame dps check twice. The nin died several times each fight, causing the sch to waste mp on rezzing them often. While we managed to beat it on the third try, the nin fled after the boss was dead. Blm was kinda left wondering if that was the norm and left, and the healer didn't notice until I pointed it out to her that the nin was severely undergeared. Apparently that was her friend, and asked her to remind her friend that she should gear up a bit better to avoid eating so much dirt.
I think I'll avoid tanking for a while in roulette.

White Mages don't get Tetra until level 60. That being said, I agree with you. By the time people reach level 50 and beat all of the mandatory "Hard" modes post-2.0 story (that includes beating Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan Hard), I expect some competency from players from there.Welp, last night was the first time I've ever bailed on a dungeon. I was leveling WAR trying to get to LV60 and decided to run Gubal Library (a dungeon I hate very much) since I finished all my roulettes. Things are going fine up until Demon Tome. I know that someone is new in the dungeon and I just note that I hate the boss. We proceed to wipe, which is fine since people are new. Explained mechanics. And then we proceeded to wipe 5 more times because the WHM kept dying. I don't quite understand how you can reach LV59 on a WHM and not use: Tetra, Bene, Medica 1 or Medica 2, and Assize. I tried to be patient. I'm a healer main (AST/WHM) so I know how WHM works. I'm just really hoping I didn't scare a new healer away from healing. I'm so sorry to that party I had to abandon. :c

You should've kicked that nin the instant you discovered they were that badly undergeared, and if that failed to go through bailed on them right then and there.I'm still kinda dumbfounded at this.

Think of tanks as having a reverse queue-- you don't have a queue to get in, you wait in your roulette queues when you ditch unprepared groups.
Never assume you've found rock bottom. You're just asking for someone to come along with a better shovel.
Unrelated to previous story; Just tanked Sephirot in trial roulette with three red mages. All three of them backflipped off within seconds of each other. I'm speechless.
Had an odd run in Aurum Vale earlier. Wanted to get some practice in on MCH, as this was one of the only few jobs that I hadn’t actually tried until recently. Our tank was a mentor and playing as DRK and immediately, they say that they are still learning tanking and apologizes for any mistakes they may make. Tank is already in Grit, so I’m like, cool, this shouldn’t be too bad.
The tank starts moving and as we approach the first area, I notice that he doesn’t have darkside on. I let him know to go ahead and activate it. He doesn’t do so, and while it is annoying as I have a lot of experience as a DRK, it isn’t a dealbreaker to me, so our group pushes on. I don’t remember if it was the healer or the samurai that was getting on him about not having darkside, but eventually, the tank responded and said that they were too lazy to unlock it.
Now that…that was a dealbreaker for me. I don’t understand how that is possible? It’s literally your initial quest reward, so how lazy do you have to be that you can’t even do your initial quest to get darkside?
Sure enough, when the tank botched and pulled way too big after the first boss, they do the inevitable and rage quit after the wipe. One less headache in a run full of ‘em, but this one stood out to me the most.
And this is why it forever annoys me Leveling dungeons have no ilvl restriction. It's absurd someone can queue into content basically naked and the game allows it. Only for Leveling dungeons though. Everything else has some sort of gate. So it boggles the mind why they didn't add one here.I'm still kinda dumbfounded at this.
