EX roulette yesterday:
Burn.
First time in there since the time I unlocked it. Was doing medium-big pulls, but things seemed to die kinda slow. It wasn't until after the second boss, where I accidentally did a pull with 8+ mobs (still cleared it with no issue, but I forgot that that one set of them just jumps out of the ground :X), that I heard the sound of a RDM single target melee combo. And then good old varfire-aero afterwards. ...Yup, turns out this RDM had decided not to AoE even at 8+...
In other news, the dragon's divebombs still confound me.

Ex roulette today:
Arboretum.
...We took 12 minutes to clear the whole place. This party was insane. Everything died at ludicrous speed, and there were no breaks. I probably could have left out my pre-boss countdowns too, seeing as the DPS clearly didn't need them (but they still kindly followed the countdowns even while going for such insane pace, btw).
And the people there even managed to sneak in some fun chat banter. Now I wish that "commend all" was an option.

Long time reader of this topic. Not really a poster.. But the Alpha 4.0 normal I just got out of.. Oh.. boy..
List of cast: Me on War. went in with 3 DPS FC mates. Two SAMS and an RDM
Got a PLD, WHM, AST and BLM. to match.
Warning bells went off the moment we loaded in and the PLD popped Shield and stood there... and stood there.. and stood there... So I asked if they were gonna pull only to "surprisingly" get no answer. So I threw on Defiance pulled up a countdown and away we went. PLD kept up Shield. and started to eat.. everything.. ended up dead at some point. BLM kept alternating which healer they were gonna kill with overlapping aoe markers. and just plain out death kept happening. till barely 4 people were up including me. and the Male/female was barely down to 50% first phase. SO I just jumped for a reset.

Pull two. Pausing for a moment to ask the PLD if they were gonna MT or just continue to OT in tank stance got them to switch to Sword. Only for them to stand there for the first 30% of the fight. End up dead. Lay there for about another 10% (Ignoring rezs coming their way) Till finally getting up. and back to eating aoes somehow staying alive but mostly seeming to afk randomly or just run around like they were lost. Despite that and still the deaths we somehow burn it down to phase switch... Welp... SSs speak for themselves. Names removed in accordance to forum rules
Healer= Green
SAM Dps with the stack marker= Red.




Third pull didn't cause a vote abandoned went through after the difference of opinion happened.

PS. the healer stacked the purple on the stack and wiped everyone before starting to speak.

Level 65 MCH wearing ilvl 200 everything in siren song sea. That should speak for itself.

I too have an Alphascape v.4 story. Half the party kept dying, it was mostly me on AST, one of the tanks and a SAM who managed not to die for the most part.
First wipe was to the aoe spam where my co-healer was again dead on the floor. They kept complaining we don't have the dps to avoid the aoe spam and that's why we wiped. I have healed through the aoe spam before for quite a good while, but I had a capable cohealer with me to do so. It's not impossible.
Second pull we barely get them to split because everyone just dies to mechanics and take the rest of us with their aoe marks.
Third pull we manage to get to the split phase. My cohealer keeps complaining about lack of aoe on one of them, and dies in so doing.
I point out we don't die to lack of dps, but to mechanics. The vote abandon finally goes through.

I queued as an Astrologan to help my friend level up her Bard in Cutter's Cry, and we ran into two other players, a Warrior and a Dragoon from Famfrit, from which later I assume they also queued together as me and my friend. Everything went very smoothly until the first boss, when we got the first boss to 50% that she started to spawn a lot of minions, I started to notice the mobs targeting me and more mobs spawning afterwards also targeted me while Dragoon and Warrior were just attacking the Queen. My DPS friend are new to this game so she is learning and she did not talk in this game. Here's the link from our full conversation after the first boss.

Some parts are cut due to my inexperience of print-screening, and because of my term of no name-shaming, I decide to leave their world open, but names hidden (Green - Healer; Blue - Tank; Red - DPS; my friend did not contribute in this chat).

I was so mad that I just stopped talking in party chat and were unable to fully explain the Chimera's mechanic to my friend. It is so frustrating to play with this type of people.

Having a Burger King crown by ones name is no indication of skill. Often times, it's the opposite.

I seriously didn't believe yesterday how many times i did end up out of mana in alphascape normal, with lucid dreaming still on a cooldown for nearly two whole minutes, on my rdm because of people dying so much left and right, and healers not rezzing when they are not dead. It was so awful that several times i couldn't even attack anymore, because i can't do much with 300 points of mana left.

I sure hope that these runs dont end up on fflogs because my dps must have been utter garbage. Not because of me, i actually did an awesome healer job, but because of the other players. Fflogs needs a serious overhaul on the way the firsts stats you see about a player are showed. It is not right that i didn't die, saved the raid by raising so much, but still would end up with "boouuuhhh booouuuhhh you are grey you are bad and you should feel bad" comments of people looking only at the dps on the first page and nothing else.

No one cares about logs in casual content, so you're safe.

fflogs show at first the best perf you did and the median one. a run like this you say will lower a little the median, but not the best. also, between other run of the same content, even the median wont move too much.

And people doesnt watch a lot for "story mode" content.

Even if the intent is good, i hate mentor system. it helps nothing, many get the crown just to get bonuses linked to it.
Helping other people of the comunity should be "free" and so only those really wanting it would do... I dont think i am alone that didnt wait this kind of system to helps other (on FFXIV or elsewhere)

Same here I'm not opposed to the mentor system, I just wish it didn't have rewards linked to it as that will only encourage selfish people to sign-up for it. I think a fairly decent amount of people would still be mentors, as they truly enjoy helping others. It may make for a better mentor selection if rewards were removed. Maybe change the icon as well as people just think it looks cool

I queued up to do mentor roulette twice and got O12 in progress, TWICE. The second time, I zoned in, and made a comment about how no one could do the fight today.

How to not greet the healer that just joined in progress to help you - "Yo Thyn'a nice @$$"

Maybe pay attention to the fight instead of peoples characters heinies and you might be able to do the content!
