Under the Moonlight spoilers

Note:I just recently completed the Under The Moonlight patch msqs and haven't started Prelude in Violet just yet so please keep spoilers for that hidden or to a minimum

Two things caught my eye while playing.The way Zenos instructed Asahi to turn Yotsuyu into the Primal Tsukiyomi and the Shadow Hunter

Correct me if I'm wrong on this but I'm pretty sure Elidibus is the one possessing Zenos's body and it seems so from the way he talked to Varis

As for the Shadowhunter,that's absolutely Gaius Van Baelsar and I screamed of joy when i saw him and it's clear that he's Gaius from both the Gunblade and the fact he has his mask bundled with all the masks of the Ascians he hunted


My theory that I'm gonna say might not have all the details from Prelude to Violet,but I think we're definitely going to Garlemald in the next expansion of 5.0.Everything seems to be hinting to it from Alphinaud going to Garlemald,all the civil problems inside between the Popularise faction and the Emperor's main forces.We're definitely going to Garlemald to fix that and unfold the scheme that Elidibus and Varis are plotting

God this got me so excited

EDIT:I forgot to mention the Elezen Resistance member with the Katana who had Zenos/Nael's theme playing in his cutscene........did Zenos's soul go to a different body?

At PAX a couple years ago, someone asked Yoshida about Doom Train (Not Phantom Train. Doom Train.) and he said, if he added it to the game, he'd want it to be in Garlemald, "Sooo... maybe 5.0?" and ever since there have been zero hints that Garlemald wasn't 5.0, so there's that.


Also FWIW you're pretty observant/intuitive for someone with 18 posts to your name; I hope if you stick with XIV stick with loremongering, too

I've been obsessed with XIV for the past 4 months so most likely I ain't putting it down any time soon till the last expansion comes(well....a little break when Smash Ultimate comes out but that's it xD) so I'll stick to that at some point

For Zenos, I was thinking the same thing when I saw Asahi's flashback; the way Zenos talked, I was like, "that's so not him; he wouldn't think of a strategy like that because he just doesn't care" lol
EDIT: As for the cutscene with the Resistance Elezen soldier, watch it again and read his dialogue carefully...

The moment the Elezen said "The hunt" and how he used the Katana screams Zenos.....and hey if Zenos can possess freakin shinryu I wouldn't be surprised if his soul somehow managed to find a new body after Elidibus stole his corpse

On the topic of the Elezen that mentioned the Hunt, I'd like you to hearken WAY back to ARR, during the scenes leading up to the Leviathan fight. We encountered a Sahagin there who, thanks to the Echo, had the ability to move his soul to a new body after death.

Zenos had the Resonance, which is very much like the Echo, so it's something to consider...

I remember that WAY back in ARR post game which is probably what Zenos did considering how Similar the Resonance and Echo are as you mentioned

That's pretty cool tho to build on such a detail cuz I don't see a lot of people mentioning how the Sahagin Priest transferred his soul to another body

I really can't wait to see Elezen-Zenos clash with Elidibus who now possesses his body with all of it's power combined with his ascian magic
