I hope they merge servers regardless of population drop. I mean v2.0 is on its own servers separate from this right? I doubt the population will spike and fill up one of the current worlds. Then again it probably isn't even possible since the server structure sucks so badly. It might explode during the process.

Yes I would rather just relax at home and not have to head all the way back to my parents place for these things... but as I said it is a time to see family so I will take it as that.

They probably could do it... pulling the character data and such from one server and moving it to another should not be an issue... the problem comes in that you will hit the same issue with quests and such as they are going to have when they move everyone to the new servers for v2.0...

i can't see it. these severs are so rubbish they can't even get a market system to work inside one server. can you imagine trying to combine the market date from 2 or more servers. its a real shame i wish i was on the same server as you

i have been playing since day one. i bought the collectors edition, i bought the cryse or whatever they are called, and have somewhat enjoyed playing.
i dont believe that the fees should start until the 1.20 patch is released, as then it may possibly be something like a complete game and not a work in progress.
the graphics are great, and they atleast give my computer a bit of a workout, but other than that i feel that the game has not lived up to the hype, let alone the $100 [us] i have invested in the game.
i still have the nintendo version of final fantasy, and bought a play station in order to play final fantasy. i invested 3+ years on computer playing final fantasy online, and in each case i felt that i recieved more that full value for my money.
i have pretty much given up on the game several months back, and the bit of hope i see for the game is the 1.20 patch, and i refuse to pay more money just to be let down again.
try starting the fee one month after 1.20 patch is live and i will atleast give serious thought to paying.
as i see it right now, the game is NOT worth $10 a month, and i will now renew my subscription, as i feel that i am being sold a "bill of goods", being told" look how great it will be after the 1.20 patch", and i dont want to be fooled again. good luck to all who stay, if they have a free trial of the 2.0 version i will try it, but i will not pay for it until i am sure it will be a real final fantasy game and not the uetiful empty game it is now.

Market wards are the really weak link, back around launch day before SE admitted the game would stay FUBAR for around a year we had like 5-10 times more people than today and I don't remember server crashes (there probably were but not remembering them says a lot), except for the wards, those would crash several times a day.

That is true though they wouldn't need to mess with the market stuff... though I think what would be the hard part is character items. When moving to the v2.0 servers they said they would move all items to an NPC to hold until you picked them up... they would need to create said item NPC before they could do server transfers... though I'm not sure why items can not be carried over during the transfer. Then again grandm you are probably right and the server would implode and cause a black hole in SE and we lose everything...

It would be fun if you and many others here had been on my server or if I had been on yours ^^

Bah, I might actually switch over from Lindbulm, (*Or atleast make a character on Figaro*) since I contacted a friend from FFXI and she said she played on Figaro. ;_;
