Patches take too long to come out. Please Hire more staff

I don't like when people try to tell me my job is easy when they have never worked in the field, I also don't like when people say throwing more people at something will make it go faster which is not the case all the time. I don't tell people how to do their job and people should not tell me how to do mine.

You guys should be glad they put all the love into these patches to get rid as many bugs as they can or it will be like playing an Bethesda game with people walking around with upside down bodies, dragons flying in backwards etc.

Its the players making excuses and giving the game a pity party because its not 2.0 yet (server issues, missing features ect.) You cant tell someone to pay for a game, then make up excuses that things cant happen because something is bad until X date. That just telling people you dont care enough to fix it...so why would anyone play your game?

we are enjoying the game as is

and if your not, then yes, you should definately wait to pay for it, i dont care what the product is, if you are not enjoying it, why are you doing it, that just seems like self inflicted torture, its not like anyones holding a gun to your head after all

and to take it up a level, yes, 2.0 will be a better game

but guess what, 2.1 will be better then 2.0, and 2.2 will be better then 2.1 and so on

its a never ending cycle so people shouldnt look to a specific patch to be the end all ever

Funny story --

Around the office sometimes people say they can't do something till (other department) finishes their assets as everyone work together to get things done, i.e you need your texture artist to be on their game or your world will look like a mess of endless shading.

Does that mean your world designer doesn't care? Or do it simply mean something can't be done until a requirement is met?

It's understandable people have become extremely cynical, but when something very specific can't be done until it's possible to do so..it's not an excuse. If you don't want to pay don't pay..no one is forcing you to. The choice is yours and yours alone.

The timeline has been set, the developers will have to stick with it and communicate us for any issue or changes of it. For now, we just want to have fun in the game, and speaking of myself, I'm having lots of it. Why would you even pay for a game if it's not fun?
Why do we say "Wait for 2.0"? Because that's when the game will be Complete, when you'll be able to experience the Full-Power Final Fantasy XIV. We like this game as it is, and we're interested of the story about the Seventh Umbral Era, and also the game development, giving feedback when needed. That's why we want to pay for the game as it is now.

You're being way too apologetic to Square about this, and I've seen your other posts to know that you're much smarter than that.

Firstly, I don't think a lot (sorry, that misspelling is a personal pet peeve of mine, same for people incorrectly using your for you're) of people are enjoying this game to want to pay for it. There's a decent number, but let's not sugarcoat it here. After the subs hit, I don't think it will be much. And because there is no way in heck Square will release their subscription numbers since they're not releasing their current F2P numbers, we probably won't know unless the Producer or one of the reps/devs cough it up. It's probably best that they don't publish it as it would be bad for their already stained PR for this game.

I think a lot of us WANT to enjoy this game because there are a lot of things going for it: the aesthetics, lore, environment, "the Final Fantasy" name (yes I know that one's a weak excuse), and the potential the gameplay has to be fast paced (once they fix their awful position and UI latency). Zanfire's concern is a very valid one (and I have the same train of thought too), but it's pretty much the equivalent of crying over spilled milk. Saying you want it NAO and have everything fixed within a few months even if you're giving them money isn't going to speed it up. The game was released as a giant shitstain in the MMO genre and Yoshida had to dig this game out of the Britney Spears-sized hole Tanaka and Wada made for it. I hate waiting too, especially when SWTOR is right around the corner and Torchlight II, Diablo 3, GW2, and Phantasy Star Online 2 is expected to come out sometime next year, but there is very little we can do to speed their asses up short of flying down to SE-Japan headquarters and threatening to lash them with a wet noodle.

This part is for people like me and Zanfire who are disappointed with the way the game's developing:

The facts of the matter is, if you play FFXIV in its current state, I think you will not get the same kind of quality and content as a lot of completed MMOs/MMO-like competitors. There will be delays and whatnot happening because I personally think they're biting off more than they can chew since they chose to go the "develop content for a game that should've been shut down months ago and simultaneously develop its successor" route instead of just shutting down 1.0 and using those developers and resources who are currently working on 1.0 to speed up 2.0, even with all the money and resources SE has. I know why they went this route, but I don't agree with it, as it just pushes the game off to a far away date that is considered a lifetime in today's modern video gaming industry.

But Square is a big boy - if 2.0 fails, Wada might step down as CEO (typical Japanese response for when certain aspects of their business fail). If 2.0 succeeds, we'll have ourselves a FF MMO worthy of its name. It's a win-win for us and fans of the other FF games too. At this point, you're probably better off just not paying for the sub and coming back to 2.0 (an option I'm considering myself). Bitching about it in a forum won't get you far, and when the subs come around, I think there will be way more Square apologetics to deal with to a point where any criticism you will have about the way Square is doing things will be met with a majority that will pretty much used the canned pity party/wait for 2.0/I have faith in Square response that you seem to already dislike at this point.

tl;dr - If you think the product is crap and feel your advice isn't getting through to the developers/creators of that product, stop using it and stop paying for it. It'll suck because you may have grown to like the product in some factor, but it's your best option at this point.

actually you can get a rough estimate once they have a search feature, you can just /sea all and see how many ppl are online during the prime times to get an estimate.
