SE: Can we get back skip cutscene in Main Scenarios?

I think the majority of their focus is new and persistently used content, not old reqs. MSQ is a one time thing for most and while it used to be the culmination of hours of adventuring and the last thing we saw before the ultimate reward, it's now just a stone in the road that most people forget unless they queue up the roulette. Sure some work could be put in here and there, and I'm not against the idea, but I'm highly doubtful they'd ever convince a director it would be worth the time and money and I'm doubly sure they have far more pressing and widely affecting things to work on.

The issue for me is that they cross-subsidise other brands using FFXIV's profits. I'm not that bothered about this particular issue (char design, graphical touch up, battle system and new content interest me more), but it's not so much that SE is resource constrained as it is that they don't really want to give FFXIV a bigger budget, even though it's one of their most profitable products. This is what many people find annoying about their resource allocation decisions. Sure, they should spend resources on areas of the game that players are likelier to use and often, and the budget increase SB got leaves me hopeful that they will invest more in 5.0, too.

Barring some copy/paste content (like HoH and Eureka), I find SB pretty good on the whole and 4.3 was an amazing patch in terms of the MSQ, so I would like to see them step out of their shell a little now and begin innovating with class design, the combat system and new content, as they did with XI.

EVERYTHING, synthing, trails, what have you is copy paste, so I am very confused here. Most of the way you progress is copied from sometime starting in ARR, and some stuff that was new in HW ended up being copied to SB. So... HW copied most its stuff from ARR and pretty much everything in SB got copied from HW. The copy/paste HW>SB is tons worse then the amounts done for HW from ARR, and that was high as is.

Nothing innovated happened for SB except a few duty actions and the Eureka element wheel, it tried to be innovative anyway, but the full picture of making a real impact never happened. Then there was new small things like darts, and reusing that here and there for some beast tribe quests but id say like? 95%? SB is direct copy/paste from HW. Someone told me they felt HoH is really boring, it is like an easy mode palace of the dead. You have to spam 20-29 too much, at least for palace of the dead you had to go 51-100 to level your aether and starting out doing 1-50, you did not have to repeat floors that much. The person in question basically rage quit today from the boring faceroll and seeing the same aesthetics over and over again. At least 51-100 felt a tad different from the different pacing of it. its like they made 1-100 into 1-30 so less time and money would be spent on it.

So long as everyone has completed it WITH all of those cutscenes in place first. I never had a chance to see either of those dungeons or find out what the story was until this change was added, and that's years after I was marked as having "completed" them. This change to requiring the cutscenes is the best change SE has made to the game since it launched. We can finally see the climax of the story that was never available before.

This is why I posted what I did. You do not need this change to force everyone to do something just because you can't grab a friend or 2 or use PF, (prompt popping up when you go try to enter this the first time explaining this place has cut scenes and make a party with friends is recommencement for full enjoyment.)

Furthermore even if we want to defend this change for whatever reason, at the very least they could allowed people seeking the daily bonus and clear it fast can do so with self made parties. (basically let people enter as preform 8 to to clear for the exp bonus be allowed to skip the CS) THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON to have a blanket change on everyone just because a few people can't put their own parties together. Don't you have any self pride or do you expect the development team to treat the complete player base as children?

This change is one of the worst changes I have seen to a video game, right up there with the greed looting only for 24 man and taking chat out of feast. You give people options, it is that simple, not doing so insults those that hate being forced to do things one specific way. To understand my view better, this would be no different then a complete ban on cars, saying people need take public transportation because people have too many accidents.

why would you undersize it solo? you would get absolutely nothing that way. unless you were desperate for a card drop or something.

You still get 200 Poetics for completion as well as any poetics the bosses might drop.
Regardless, the request to have it be skippable undersized or with a full premade has been longstanding, and makes sense. If everyone who goes in are on the same page about whether or not to watch cutscenes, the enforcement is redundant.

The current system should remain as it is. It is not fair to the new player that you got to watch all the cut-scenes when you first ran it,and expect other player to skip it just because you are not new to the run. Don't like the way its set up now, well that's just to bad, the decision should stand. In fact this should be implemented across all dungeons and Trials. If you drop intentionally or a intentional disconnect, you are locked out of all instances for the next 6 hours. This is a story driven MMO, if you don't like that fact ,then this game is not for you and you should consider playing something else.

If I didn't tank for some of my friends they would have never gotten past that part, they were in que during NA prime time for about 40-50 minutes. At 3 different times, I don't know if they just got unlucky or what.


But to anyone that doesn't like the forced cut scene, just don't run it. Outside of helping 2-3 friends out, I haven't touched that place since the change.

If the queues get too long for new players maybe SE will step in and do something, or not, who knows.

uh you don't get any tomestones if you undersize it, only if you're completing it for the first time.
