Are dwarves the new race for 5.0?

Yeah that last doesn't shout adult viera who are short but if they went about unleashing viera children. The adorableness is probably why we don't have them as a race yet because then they'd take over the cuteness spot light that lil cat girls are currently hogging. Also most of those other concept art is of the au ra.

Half of it is Viera, hence I said begin from the middle, but I agree, those are probably children. Nonetheless, they could, if they so wanted, split the race along such lines, with a design emulating that for the smaller one.

I just want the option for a tall male Viera regardless - not interested in a midget or a concept reversal of au ra being executed on them.

I think the 'tall male short female' thing has been played too much here, literally every race but lalafell played the tall male short female thing.

Lore-wise, not through natural means no. They are essentially unable to use aether in the way that most other races can, hence why they simply can't teleport from place to place the way an Eorzean might, and so forth. They can simulate magic through their Magitek, or through more extreme measures which I won't get into for potential spoilery reasons.

There has been a person who has been leaking things pretty accurately for several patches and they said that viera will be a new race. Supposedly there will be another race but they did not say what it is because they don't want to spoil the story (I'm mildly amused this person has some standards as to what is and isn't okay to leak). I'm not going to provide any links to this as I doubt the mods would take kindly to that sort of thing being linked on the official forum.

In a pastebin a couple weeks back, he added "look at my avatar" in regards to the two races. That avatar being a lion and a rabbit. It's led some speculation around Ronso being a new race, though I still have my doubts we'll see two.

Let me guess you didn't like that part of XII where you find out that there are male Viera but they're shorter and were like male mithra in XI where they played the role most women do? Or do you just not like short men? As someone else pointed out all but two races already have what you're looking for unless you're that into rabbits. Just trying to understand why you want Amazonian rabbit dudes.

I'm not expecting any new races as Yoshi has said that anything really different besides the current humanoids will require updating over 5,000 assets related to the characters. That being said, if they did add a new race, I expect it will be the bunny people as they could take the Huyr and slap ears on them.

Female Viera being taller than males wouldnt necessarily mean that they're short though?
I suppose a few people have been asking for an extra gender dimorphism when it comes to height, like we see in the Au Ra.

But we have height-differences in almost all races (except lalafell, I guess). And female elezen and Roegadyn are still pretty tall, yet still not as tall as males.

So, out of curiosity... are you only opposed to something as extreme as the Au Ra or the general concept of females being taller? If you could play as a male Viera with a max-height of 1,9m (ears not included) and the females max height would be 2,1m - would that still bother you? Your Viera wouldnt be a midget, just not as tall as the Viera girls around.

I apologise if I've missed the answer to that - I'm to tired to read through the whole thread right now, but I got curious about whats your actual issue here: The idea of not-so-tall males or of not-as-tall-as-the-girls males.
