Thread: Are dwarves the new race for 5.0?

I dearly hope they don't do lupin, ronso or any other "bestial" race that has a face thats not human. Its not that I disapprove of those races but when I look at the complete absence of facial animations for the bestial races, I shudder to think what that would be like to play. Its so horrible watching the kojin, dragons, lupin or any other race speak and see that immobile mouth just sitting there. Its so disconcerting to watch.

Given how prominent some of those races were and they decided not to do ANY form of animation, it doesn't instill hope that they'll do a decent job with a new race.

If the rumors are true, I'll be looking forward to the addition of viera. No idea what the second race could be. Would be nice if they could implement both the tall and short versions of viera from the concept art.

I dunno, there ARE dwarves in FF4, they live underground. So not completely unrelated to Final Fantasy, at least.

To me the kojin look like they are always wearing masks. If the leaks about race are true and we are getting Viera then I do hope that they're like the au ra when it comes to hight but switched. Hopefully they try harder to make them look more bunny without it looking comical or too off putting that they would have to restyle the armor. If we're getting a second race then maybe the rat/mouse people from nine. Think Justin from The secret of Nhym (sp?) movie. Dawrves have been on and off since at least FF4, but I think they were introduced in 2 or 3. The only problem is the only female that I can remember ever seeing is the little girl who was the owner of Calcabrina.

dwars have been around startng in ff1 but dont meen we need them in game

I'd love to play a Burmecian, but I don't think there'd be any room for them sadly.
Ishgard is, for all intents and purposes, Elf Burmecia and we already have these tubby knockoffs.

Only good small race are Ivalice Moogles. Don't @ me.
