I wonder how much of a recast time Keen Flurry affects Whirlwind?
It seems like it Whirlwind was part of a combo, based on:
we should get a TP-free Whirlwind, but then with combo action, it says it consumes TP when we're below 50% health? Not only will a successful combo grant you the bonus indicated; TP cost will also be waived for the weaponskill used to execute it. For a combo to be valid, however, the weaponskill in question must be used with the class or job to which it belongs.
I so confuse, I mean everything in the end is wait-and-see, but it's fun to speculate sometimes hehe
I have all my jobs at 50, and I do play and do what I want for the most part. Its more of a statement of how things are either super overpowered, or nerfed to hell IE archer before 1.19, and now we have marauder which was incredibly overpowered in 1.19 because of storms path spammability losing its main ability that made you want to use it in leveling groups. While its still up in the air until the patch, marauder could be going in the same direction of being nerfed to complete uselessness since it looks like lancer will be able to outdamage it on a one on one basis, and gladiator is going to reclaim the tanking role with the abilities its getting.
Again though, we will have to wait until the patch to see, but exp parties where you are getting chains that net the party 20k exp in like 3-4 minutes using marauder are pretty much dead.
Personally I think the devs do want MRD to become a tank-oriented class, but I think the way they are going about the class overhauls will force it into a DD role.I have all my jobs at 50, and I do play and do what I want for the most part. I'm interested to see how this plays out though, I think MRD will still have viability in burn parties, even with cooldowns, etc. if you rock 4-5 MRD in a group we'll still be able to burn mobs pretty quickly, but obviously not as efficiently as we've been allowed over 1.19.
The design intent looks like it is wheening more toward single target DD.Personally I think the devs do want MRD to become a tank-oriented class, but I think the way they are going about the class overhauls will force it into a DD role.

woot ? force it into DD role ? MRD have always suppose to be a DD (being use as DD tank though but that is the system to blame). Either way MRD still effective, just because they are being limit with the aoe doesn't make them less effective, just because player lost their MRD power horse 45-50 doesn't make it suck or less effectivePersonally I think the devs do want MRD to become a tank-oriented class, but I think the way they are going about the class overhauls will force it into a DD role.

I don't know where you're getting that I said it was going to be a bad class or something, that's not even remotely what I had said.woot ? force it into DD role ? Yes, forced into a DD role through GLA being the more efficient tank after the class changes. I see MRD being used in parties, but not like in Ifrit or Spiritbond parties like it has been this past patch. They are supposed to play the role of a "DD Tank", yes, but I don't see that "tank" aspect sticking around after the patch drops.
And, well... yes, losing their ability to AoE spam certainly does make them less effective than they are now for burn parties. Saying it won't make them less effective is just ignorant.
It looks like tanking may be of benefit with Overpower being the quick AoE. If we're parrying up a storm, we can continue to Overpower. And because we'll be getting hit, Rampage oughta be a good one with Enduring March to reposition.
The possibilities excite me! I think, because the exclusiveness of the traits, while allowing some cross-classing makes each of the classes (at a glance anyway) feel more distinguished?
