Tsukuyomi Ex as WHM.

Looking great going into fourth phase. Second Lunacy is comes up, and I see everyone split up and run to the wrong fans. Three party members dead from first hit. I Divine Benison myself as I run back to the middle. Six party members dead after second hit. I hit Healer LB. I get hit next, but survive on at 10%. LB cast finishes finishes. Final strike from Lunacy kills me. Healer LB animation goes off, but no one gets healed or raised. LB consumed. Tsukuyomi smacks out last player to death. Wipe.

I queued as Astrologian for Alliance Raid Roulette today and got World of Darkness.

I suppose what set the tone for the Raid was the tanks spreading the chimeras slightly apart from one another so that everyone got blasted by three sets of Dragon's Voice.

But it continued with a wipe on the first boss that had me tanking Angra Mainyu because no one was destroying the adds or looking away for Mortal Gaze. Especially the tanks, who spent most of the fight dead. I gave a nudge in Alliance chat to use the circles if you don't look away in time, which allowed us to progress.

We then hit the next set of adds, where I spent a great deal of time running away from some that no one bothered to pick up.

After that, the second boss went moderately okay aside from Toxic Slime exploding and inflicting everyone with Silence (this is why I have an emergency item hotbar) and people dropping at the end due to Pyretic.

Then we get to Cerberus and again, no one picks up adds. So I get Seedvolleyed to death while trying to chase after my party members who keep running all over the arena, making it difficult to heal them. Twice.

Afterwards, we hit Cloud of Darkness. No one bothered to kill the clouds OR stand in the circles, so we had a lovely near wipe experience towards the end where half of the Raid died and we had to drop everything and DPS her before she kill everyone with her 16 attack buff Particle Beam.

I was very hesitant to post this here because…well, I feel like this is my fault.

So did a trial roulette and jumped into Ravana HM as a DPS. Things started off fine – got through the first phase with no problems, I’m managing my aggro quite well. But after Ravana used his ultimate, things went south extremely quickly. When Ravana started to do his directional parry, I moved over to the side that was open to attack. The WAR that was main tanking him decided to turn Ravana for some reason, so naturally, I got countered. Not too bad, I’ll just adjust, right?
I threw up a diversion because I was generating a lot of hate, but then went back to going ham on the boss. Didn’t get hit by any more directional parries, but then, and I have no idea how, but the WAR died. With diversion up, I was 2nd in enmity, so naturally, I immediately got aggro – and Ravana shredded me with a cleave….and two other DPS who were on the side with me.

The run led to a wipe. The other tank, also a WAR, said that I should not have had 2nd in enmity. I told him that I had popped diversion well before the main tank died. One of the DPS that died blamed me for wiping the raid due to the cleave that I was not expecting. I didn’t want to argue because I kinda felt bad because I felt that it kinda was my fault, so I apologized to the raid and told them I would pop my diversion much earlier.

I get told to piss off and next thing I know, I get kicked out of the raid.

Now…I haven’t been kicked from an instance in a very long time. So it kinda stings a little bit. What did I do wrong? I apologized, I acknowledged that I should’ve thrown up a diversion earlier…I mean, the only other thing I could’ve done different was maybe not be on the side that the other DPS were on? I dunno…I really wish they didn’t kick me. So…there’s that.

Nope, did nothing wrong. Tank shouldn't have gone down in the first place, so pinning the blame on you when things were already spiraling out of control makes no sense. Personally, this sounds to me like a group of friends out on a vendetta against someone (anyone) they don't know in order to hide their own mistake. Even if they didn't know each other, it's possible for lightning to strike and to get booted for a completely idiotic reason once in a while. Happened to my friend and I in Syrcus Tower once. One of the members of the group decided to be a jerk and kick us. At least part of the party supported him, so it was either friends or apathetic randoms misusing their kick. It's rare, but it happens.

Just rude and uncivilized people. This is a game, no a job, and of course you can make mistakes. We are suppossed to have fun, no tell people to piss off and ostracize them. If we wipe, we wipe and learn from that. And since we arent perfect, one time it will be your fault, and the next one probably it will be my fault.

I dunno about that, having had a smooth Rav hm run recently where only one dps fell in the latter phase of the fight. That said, Kaiva's run sounds like it was just bad, and their attempt to smooth things over with an apology only marked them for everyone else's ire, because who accepts responsibility for their own failures?

If it's any consolation, @Kaiva, I suspect that they had more wipes and an abandon after you were unceremoniously booted (either that or the tanks and healers, and maybe a dps, left right afterward without a penalty, and at least you had the ability to queue up again if you desired, as opposed to the 30 minute penalty for just leaving.

That may be true, but after that kick, I just logged off and turned off my console. The cleave took me completely off guard because it happened within a span of 2 seconds. I have no idea what it was that killed the tank, either.

Sounds to me like the party you joined was asleep and ignorant. Any dps can be at 2nd place enmity even with enmity dump rotation because some fights just generate that sort of situation. If the tank suddenly died, then either he messed up or the healers did. Where the hell was the OT to provoke + tank ranged enmity move to pick up the boss? Where are the healers and raises? Is the last standing a rdm or smn? Are they doing their part to pick up the pieces? Where the hell is everybody? Spiraling out of control cuz they came in dead brained.

But you know, much easier to start a mob mentality and join in on bashing a scapegoat then own up to their mistakes.

Tl;DR: You did everything you could and no one can hang you for that.
