Patches take too long to come out. Please Hire more staff

What's up with all of the apologetics on this forum? If they keep delaying everything by ten days because they can't get it done in time they need to rethink what they are doing.

So the presence of apologists justifies the presence of self-entitled game industry experts?

If the patches keep getting delayed, that's the management's problem. The dates are merely their made-up predictions based on the progress so far and thus in no way always accurate.

How can this be so hard to grasp?

Dude, give them time. They're revamping the game by updating it in a crappy structure, so they have to be careful and take time for their decisions. Also, they keep developing the New Final Fantasy XIV.
If these are the circumstances, Sh*t takes time, and FFXIV is the Waiting game, since there's relatively little to do =)

Enter the business world, especially software and game development -- You'll learn very quickly delays happen.

Not really, you still have to be patient in every other Pay-for services that employs patching/updates (P2P MMOs etc.)

yes, exactly. i quoted you for truth. if they feel the game is worth my money then there is no longer wait til 2.0. they expect us to pay now then we expect them to do their job now and have a game ready to pay for.

Except after over one year, we're still mostly getting basic stuff that should have been there to begin with. I'm sure if the patches consisted of 90% content and 10% fixes/adding basic features, no one would complain. At the moment it's the other way around.

I'm ok with this game being in a rebuild phase (and I'm mostly happy about the 1.20 notes), however to put it on the same level as other MMO's is a bit silly.

From each patch they seem to take extra time to finish them or too long and work on bugs and such after releases. Such as 1.19a,1.19b etc.

They take about 10 days extra to finish a patch. So for them to finish everything up till Ver2.0 it will take them 6 months extra.

Version2 & Patch 1.23 says its going to be completed by Oct.2012.

So ver2.0 might not get done on time including the patches until Nov.2012~April.2013.

For them to make patches on time they would have to increase the development staff by 20%. This would make faster released content and better testing before releasing to early to meet patch due dates.

Edit: As for people that say more is bad your kinda right and wrong.

More people on same project might cause problems but if you give someone a job and spread them out up until Version2 PS3 release it shouldn't be a problem.

Im just pointing out what they are already doing. I can wait for updates trust me I played FFXI for 9 years.

I only want FFXIV to be the best it can be. Its why I want them to consider hiring more programing staff and testers.

start working on fixing extra problems which in every patch something new alwas shows up and isn't fixed until months down the road.
