Do you feel bad about lying to NPCs?

As a miner/metal worker (BSM, ARM, GSM) I tend to just make my own stuff, since it's normally cheaper to buy the missing wood/cloth/leather to go alongside the metal items I can already make than to buy the complete item. However, I did take a personal interest in the 50-60 blacksmith quest chain with the knight girl. Since I love fantasy themed knights and such a lot I felt more in touch with that one then any other crafting quest. So I went out of my way to do everything I could myself so I could say I put in as much effort as the girl in the quest chain did.

Kinda felt bad about screwing over Gegeruju in the Ridorana wine quests. I mean, the guy's more or less done right by us so far as I can recall. Wouldn't have minded screwing over that sodding dramaturge and his giraffe wife instead.

Depending on the situation, my mood and my personal thoughts towards the matter at hand at that particular time; I will lie, snarl, smile, and cheat all NPCs if and when necessary.

And I will not feel an ounce of remorse... because I'm the darn Warrior Of Light, thank you very much.

Gegeruju drinks from this wine (and shows that he has no idea about it) but also wants to sell it again. He just let it be refilled again and does screw over someone else with it too. It does not make our actions right, but that guy is honestly not someone that I feel sorry for. (But I agree with the rest of the post. Would have loved to just say "damn you all, I just wait till they are ready. Get the wine for your wife yourself.."

Geruju is shown to be a guy with way too much money and time on his hands.

But he doesn't fall into the common pitfalls most people write people in power having. I recall a quest where he sends you off to see what happened to the dancers he hired: they stopped to play in the surf. He takes it in stride, pointing out that the anticipation is just as important as the show, and that he doesn't "need" them there "right" away.

So it's sort of "I need to cheat him in order to progress, so I will, but I can think of people who deserve it more".

Not at all when most of npc's uses you and treats you like a tool all of the time. Notice few have even lied to you.

I feel bad with what the Warrior of Light did with Yugiri after the Tsukuyomi.Those was my most hated moment in FFXIV story ever.

But back to the topic, yeeeeeeeeesh. I hate it when I lie to the Npcs, especially by accident. Although, I enjoyed calling the Miqo'te guy from the summer even an "stupid head" on all my characters. It just seemed during for him at the moment. >x3
