Wish people would look at it from a programmers/designers perspective. It's a pain to design and do this. -.-/. They also have contest on designs.

What I'd like to see them do, is make all dungeon gear dyeable, but swap the types of sets used for the classes that they're on, so Dungeon 1 has the dyeable traditional armor for tank/dps, robes for healers/casters, but then Dungeon 2 has dyeable armor swapped so tank/dps has robes and casters/ healers have armor. Just so everyone has something different if they want to customize the look of their characters a bit more. Plus it might give them more incentive to run the dungeon as a different class.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - OK! ✅ to armor
"... and mounts?

FFXIV is definitely in the top 10 most popular MMOs played right now. They have the budget and staff to make new designs. However, maybe they're approaching PS4 limitations... Should have made it a PC only game. Didnt SE learn anything from FFXI and PS2 limitations?
Nope people requested it for gaming consoles and it's a nice way to make profit. Good old business -.-;

That's debatable. SE seems to be of the mind to let this game's devs work off the bare minimum possible while trying to maximize optional item monetization output through use of the Mog Station.
Which is really sad, considering this game more or less saved them from bankruptcy way back. One would be reasonable to think they'd try to allocate more money to making sure it stays afloat and continues improving so that more people keep paying sub fees + optional purchases.
As to certain people wanting to act like they know more than others - yes, design team is different than those making the actual meaty content. That shouldn't mean their design team is so small that it takes (supposedly) a year to design a new set of gear (or whatever that one excuse of theirs was at some point). Get a small team to start making gear based off the numerous designs sent in for the contests. We'd have new designs for years at that rate.

Patiently waiting for 5.0 because I am over SB and its crap design

We're getting 2 new designs in raid gear and tome gear, plus crafted gear and dungeon gear, and im assuming new appearances for the eureka stuff.
5 sets of gear is a lot to design.
This patch should have 4x12 or so pieces for omega, 4x12 pieces for tomes and savage, either 3x5 for crafters (or more if back to each job having a new glamour) 1 x5 for gatherers, dungeon gear, any event gear, any new crafted glamour gear, any new updated pvp gear, 4 x 12 gear for the new 60 man, etc. They design a LOT of pieces per expansion.
Uuuh crafted sets are reskins and the dungeon gear is a reskin. So it's only 3 sets. Unless they do something new this tier, the crafted sets will just be another recolor of the 24-man armors.

Half of our crafted gear going from 60-70 was just dyeable repastes of older dungeon gear - which don't get me wrong, I appreciate dyeable gear a lot.
Half of our dungeon gear has been recolored/re-classed stuff from other dungeons (with like one dungeon, Sirensong, having dyeable versions of old gear. And of course, the contest design winners). Now they bring back a dungeon gear set from our last expansion for a new dungeon set, one that is very likely going to be undyeable.
We have about the same amount of copy-pasting as we do unique designs (possibly a little more leaning toward copy-pasting). What isn't just blatantly copy-pasted and slapped with a new coat of paint, is dyeable gear from old raids which... they could have just made dyeable way back when it first came out.
Having a good chunk of SB's gear design be copy-pasted stuff is not exactly that enjoyable. Heavensward gave us a plethora of new designs.
