Lorewise as conjurer you are more like a translater to serve the spirites of the nature and have permision to use their aether, not like you would have any power at your own. They just allow you to do so.

This is true and seems logical like the sylph's would be willing to lend aid to you. It's not a magical trick on them. It is communication and agreement in helping you out.

Sorry, no, charming is dancer style, not Conjurer or White Mage.
If you bist want a battle companion, there is a level 30 quest in Camp Tranquil in the South Shroud, which allows your Chocobo to be called to your side.

Your opinion is noted and yeah we know about chocobos as a companion. This is not a companion although more companion options would also be cool.
