Arent they death? They killed themselves in their realm and traveled with the echo to ours. But as far as the scenes told us they went back to their worlds livestream.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
It's implied that they'd likely die during the journey, though if Hydaelyn is truly as benevolent as she makes herself out to be then perhaps she would have found a way to save them given that they literally sacrificed themselves for the sake of their planet and were screwed over despite following her instructions. Arbert is also an interesting character with an excellent voice actor, so having him show up again would be pretty cool.
Can she raise the death? I mean its not only that they died but they left their bodies behind. It's implied that they'd likely die during the journey, though if Hydaelyn is truly as benevolent as she makes herself out to be then perhaps she would have found a way to save them given that they literally sacrificed themselves for the sake of their planet and were screwed over despite following her instructions. (Well theoretically they could take over another body if they have great understanding of the echo, kinda like the Ascians do, but I am not really sure if they even wanted to go on.)

I wonder how WE became Warriors of Light... . I mean, we got some kind of vision or dream about a big shiny crystal... and thats it. Blessed by the crystal. I wonder how we get there. There is no hint, how and why we are chosen. From light comes darkness. And from darkness... light! Can she raise the death? I mean its not only that they died but they left their bodies behind.

We got a vision of both crystals, which is intriguing. I don't remember a point where we receive a vision of the future, so at some point we also saw the big purple crystal at the end of 2.0.
Was it stated that Zodiark is on the moon, or implied from Elidibus' moonwalk? Banishment can mean a lot of things if it was implied.
Yeah, however they could easily come back for some other reason with the assistance of Hydaelyn (or maybe Zodiark...) - probably trying to keep us from making the same mistake that they did or something else...
I feel like their arc was way too short and here I was thinking that we were going to have a long Tom & Jerry feud with them for the next few expansions lol.
