Anyone here knows of Speakers Network (YT)?
I discovered the channel a couple of days ago, which coincidentally, their contents goes hand in hand with the Rising event.

As someone who did not have the 1.0 experience (I started in 4.0), they did a great job at providing me the chance knowing what Eorzea was like before the Calamity (also how YoshiP made 1.0 playable after he took over). I feel that I would enjoy the open world experience. Grinding in open dungeon, hamlet defense, seamless zones in ul'dah and limsa (outside of that doesn't sound so fun), interactive ferries.. just to name a few. What I like the most is cutscenes which undeniably was done much better than what we have now. Definitely recommend 2.0 players to go over their stuff (Fall and Rise, RoaR, SoaR).. perhaps it could bring a good throwback to the legacy players too?

Happy anniversary! Would love to hear more from 1.0 peeps!

One still plays with me to the day, the other just sometimes. One's lost to the aether, but I still have her on the old Linkshell you see there, just in case...

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss (assuming you mean what I think you mean by lost to the aether). Honestly, it sounds like it would have been great. I wish I could have been there for it (1.0 game that is). I know a few legacy players myself, am friends with a couple, but still... if only I could have been there myself.

Ahhhh... I finally found the thread I had been searching for... this thread. <--- CLICK ME

That was an important item I had wanted to post earlier which was to celebrate the massive amount of stuff that players had been doing since before 1.0. That particular thread had been started by MiNuN back around when 2.0 launched and it was titled "Unique FFXIV Media".

Surprisingly, I forgot about that thread all these years and only remembered earlier today while I was discussing some interesting topics with Anony Moose in-game. First time I read that thread, I remember feeling humbled and impressed at the incredibly huge amount of fan-developed FFXIV media out there... and during this preiod while we celebrate five years of this game's re-launch, that humble respect remains.

Wow, 1.0 looks snazzy. I kinda wish the game had those visuals now, but I don't own the Batcomputer, so it's probably a necessary evil that they had to decline in quality a bit to allow playability.

Ecchi (Myuki Kazumi from my server Excalibur) made a series of fourteen 1.0 videos on the old Lodestone Forums (HERE) and uploaded all of them onto You Tube titled "Final Fantasy XIV: The Legacy of Eorzea"

It helps give new players a keen insight into the cutscenes and stories of 1.0... brilliant stuff and back then, I even linked her channel to my blog.

By the way... right HERE is a video of the last time the WoL discusses with Sensei Lousisoix before the Battle of Carteneau. This is where the final battle of the Sixth Astral Era erupts, Bahamut is unleashed and he gives his life protecting us all.

Fun Fact: During the first ever Moonfire Faire once you collected a swimsuit (of which there were five, for the last one had you had to trek all the way up to either Coerthas or Mor Dhona.. I'm kinda fuzzy on that detail.. Maybe both?) you could go to a special site and get a wallpaper of your character in their suit; You could even choose from four different backgrounds. I still have all 20, haha.



I forget if Lalafell where restricted to one pose or if it was just so bad I didn't save it because my Mi'qote alt had two poses:

I assume King just means they haven't logged on for a long time with no word as to why. (Keeping them in LS just in case.) I had the same thing happen to one of my close friends in game, still have her on mine also in the hopes she may log back in someday. Seren, if you are out there we miss you girl. <3
