And, as Yoshi himself said way back during the downtime between 1.0's shutdown and ARR's testing period, he promised 1.0 players that they would "add some way of differentiating 1.0 characters from new characters in the new game" (paraphrased), and the Legacy Mark is that.

I'm sorry to say, but unlike the White Ravens which were just a bonus for completing the short term 1.0 storyline (and thus very few 1.0 players ever actually got them), much much more have the Legacy Mark, so that has about as much chance of seeing 1.0 restored I'm afraid.
As much as I want this to be true as a fellow legacy player, I don't think I would be that shocked if they added it directly to the MogStation at some point. Same for everything else too, the Chocobo and Goobbue. I don't think I believe a damn thing they say about this stuff anymore.

They have walked back everything else at this point, achievement awards, seasonal event items, seventh umbral storyline items. There were many legacy people who had all those and they released them anyway. I don't see the quantity of people as a limiting factor.

All that is all that is left now, are the legacy campaign items and the legacy mark. I expect them to dump that too when they can make a buck from it. I wish I still had faith in them, but I think the releasing of a seventh umbral quest item was the last straw for that belief.

I also expect to see unsynced Ultimate before too long. Maybe not at 5.0, but I do expect it despite their proclamations of it not happening. I think they will do the same with PVP rewards too one day.

Yes, my faith in their "word" is that low. It wasn't always this way, but is today.
