The Doman Restoration was a good inventory/retainer clean up excuse

The side story is nice and all but I really wish they would unlock it. Maybe take away the weekly "goal" so it doesn't feel like you -have to- use it. But I found it pretty useful for dumping all my crap I somehow collect during the week. When it first came out I thought it was a genius move by SE to encourage people to empty their unneeded junk. I was surprised they put a hold on it at the end of the quest chain.

I realise you can sell it all to a vendor but I dunno, the donating thing was nice lore wise, the quick menu was more convenient.

Especially now that I have enough useless materia and fireworks and Eureken pots to fund a new Doman army from Pagos.

I could have sworn that when you finished the "quest" so far it gave you a message like "you can keep donating, it just won't count to the restoration effort until later updates!" but when I tried it next week, no luck. I'd like it if they just kept it going even if you finish the restorations so far.

...and maybe after you hit the weekly cap you can keep donating towards "orphaned Doman children" or something, just to keep it going.

But seriously, I like the idea of donating items and getting something out of it, rather than discarding them or selling to NPCs for next to nothing.

Even if they could pay in company seals or something, I mean, gil is fine as well. It's not really about the reward as such, more just a nice way to keep inven organised and clean.

They turned off the "continue on even after you finish" option for a couple of weeks after HoH came out, I think (nothing to do with HoH, I just remember that being when.) There was a bug where if you bought something back after having finished you wouldn't be able to continue when they started the next set of quests. However, that bug has been fixed and you should be able to sell back to them every week again.

there's really no point to donate after you've gotten the "Bio-doma II" acheivement and unlocked the vendor. There aren't anymore updates to the Doman Enclave until another patch adds content to it. you can if you want but there's no reward for doing so.

What value of items are you handing in? When you’ve donated enough, you get a short cutscene with some dialogue and the state of the rebuilding progresses. It should happen fairly often if you’re donating as much as you can.

so that's all i'm doing this for, some cutscenes? Yeah, I'm getting those but I thought maybe there was some sort of special vendor we will get at the end of it or anything of interest for donating. I'm still doing it but i really dont get what the point of this was other than an item sink...
