I'm fine with the rate of patches, it's just the content that they release gets done so fast that then there's nothing to do. I think this partly due to the content not being conducive to repeating and the fact that not as many people are playing so it's hard to find enough ppl to do it with.

220+ ppl working one 1-2 patches, very unlikely....

No 30 maybe, rest is working on new engine, content etc.

    This ^^

220 are most certainly not working on the patches. Who the hell do you think is redeveloping the engine and all the 2.0 redevelopment as they are working on patches?

it doesn't matter, 220 or 30 or even 5. the fact is SE have been making games for a very long time now. whatever the number of devs is, it will be the optimal number. optimal being the best so more devs won't mean faster patches. i believe this to be the truth as i said they been making games along time now. so they know what they are doing

I don't think things have been optimal at S-E for some time. If they were, FF vs XIII would be out, FFXIII would not have taken as long as it did to develop, and this game would not have flopped.

    Yes and no.
Content patches are decent for casual gamers. Hardcore players need faster content or more content.
Update patches are terrible, the amount of basic functionality this game lacks is just ridiculous.

Square stated some time ago it takes them too long to produce games. They are simply slow.
When it comes to XIV most of the team is working on 2.0 so it's good if at least 50% of devs are working on current patches.

I feel like they don't know what they are doing. Here is a simple reason why: If WoW comes out with a new patch and for some reason there is class stacking, they patch that shit up within DAYS of finding out players are abusing the glitch. DAYS. It took SE months to patch ARC stacking and hopefully in a few days (after 2-3 months) they will fix LNC stacking.

    These boys are slow meng.
