Asking for well wishes

I'm not sure why it's considered a sin if someone wants to embrace and ask the gaming community that they play with for support and warm wishes. Yes, you're not trying to be a butt. But, you're still coming across as one by acting insensitive.

Literally, if you have nothing nice to say about the situation, then don't post at all.

This is why we get the negative "nice community" memes sometimes.

Good luck with your family, Kaiva. XIV will always be here when you get back, it's not going anywhere.

Might be the cynic in me I just found it odd as to why someone would legitimately ask to what will mostly amount to empty platitudes regarding a personal matter. I mean let us imagine if everyone made a post asking for well wishes for every hardship they may be currently going through, am I really the only one who finds that odd? That is why I got confused. Either way moving on, sorry about that.

If it was just some rando suddenly saying this, I would be a cynic too, but OP is a forum regular letting everyone know that they won't be here for a bit, why they won't be here, and politely asking for well wishes. Kavia gets a pass :P

I'm not sure what there is to be confused about in all honesty, personally speaking. I'm cynical too and my whole life revolves around me being jaded towards other people because of the situations I've been in.

Still, cynicism or not, there's nothing confusing about someone requesting sympathy from others and expecting it in return from a bunch of strangers on the internet regardless if its here or a place like Facebook. That's called still being human.

Well... I find myself in a position where I'd like to ask for some good wishes. This has little to do with FFXIV, other than I'm a dedicated player. I dunno if this will work, but I'll ask anyways. From one player to the community, please send well wishes/prayers/luck my way.

Again, I have to step away from ffxiv, but this time, I'm in the midst of a custody battle that turned criminal just a few hours ago. I dunno what to do with myself other than to keep fighting. Forget Kaiva, saving my kids from the situation they got trapped in is my only priority.
