I've played plenty of instanced MMOs where people still use bots -- Especially in instances that have farming possible. You'd use bots 100x more in an instance because there's really no one but you and your crew around so you're less likely to be reported.
As an aside: People can't complain about population numbers given how much people seem to hate open world content: It doesn't matter how many people play your MMO when all you do is go to your own personal corner of the server regardless.

It does though, because I need to find people to go into that corner. I don't want to be in that corner alone. I want to recruit people and jump into the instance the same way I want to recruit people and hit a roaming NMs spawn point. In my opinion population is needed just as much for both.




i see your point, but how is that any different than the original vague poll question? remember "would you support drastic changes that would alter the rules?" i voted yes then, but if i could go back and change my vote i can assure you that myself and many others would do the same.Oh, yes of course, I would vote third option as well, because I want Roaming NMs, i love them, I just don't want open world dungeons. But I just wanted to frame the question that way specifically, without the option of the mixture, to see which side people prefer more, instance, or open world, if they had to choose. The 3rd option can skew the statistic at all, using me as an example, I would only pick option 3 because I like roaming NMs and not open world dungeons, so how would they differentiate between the two you know? So if we posed the question as either open world or instancestrictly then the devs might get an idea of which to put more of. Because the majority want both to some extent, we can agree on that.
my thing is that there should be both types of each. there should be open dungeons, nm's, and strongholds. there should also be instanced dungeons, nm's, and strongholds. different types of people have different opinions on what they want to run so there should be both types of stuff so people have the CHOICE to do the events they find fun. this is a game and the point of a game is to have fun.
