Indeed, the real issue is not $E selling things (in general) for stupid price but people wilingly buying them. The cash shop is not going to appeal to everyone. But as it is, SE is still charging high prices, so they obviously seem to be content with the amount of revenue that they are pulling in from it. I imagine they would start lowering prices/have more sales if they saw things start to dip.
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
I think I'll pass and get two real snowcones with my $5.00.![]()
Please stop buying these kinds of items everyone. It's the only way that SE will stop releasing them and exploiting the Mog Station. They only do it because they can get away with it and people will buy it anyways.
These snowcones seem like the kind of thing that could be bought with achievement certificates if you really, really wanted them.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.
So, assuming you could even get the whales to stop buying them, that wouldn't make them available in-game. Square Enix would just stop making them available full stop. We'd get them for the event and if we missed the event tough luck, never being made available again. Same for the mog station exclusive outfits and stuff that was never made available in-game. If they weren't released there, we just wouldn't get them period.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

Given I haven't had any of them because I don't care for the consumables from these events, even when I could get them from the event, I don't think that's my issue here. But for those that want them, there should be an option. Square Enix have told them what their option is, up to people what they do with it. There's obviously a market for it, because they keep putting more stuff on the mog station. Indeed, some of the outfits I've bought off the mog station. But I also know if they hadn't put them on the mog station, we wouldn't have got them at all. This is the reality of gaming these days. Cash shops are here to stay.
