I experienced something like this the other day on my alt - was in sohm al as AST and the tank had nearly completely broken gear. He told me to switch to noct because his gear would be falling apart shortly. I suggested that maybe we should remove him if that was the case, as broken gear would be detrimental to the party. Immediately the MCH came to his defense, saying I suck and I was salty and I have no jobs at 70 so I suck about that too, and he mains tank and healer (so?). The MCH that couldn’t keep up hotshot and used the LB on 2 adds and randomly went AFK.

Him and the tank just kept saying I was salty and how much I sucked. They kicked me out after we cleared the second boss. Honestly, feel bad for the healer that replaced me.

I'd report their asses at that point, especially if the two of them were in the same server. If they want to act like assholes and waste other people's time and energy then they can do that with one another's company, and leave the rest of us of of it. A friendly and/or logical suggestion is no reason to get salty and kick you, especially when that suggestion would practically save a run.

Someone knowingly qued with almost broken gear. Umm no. Why do folks think its ok to waste others time so dang much @_@
That was a perfect case of a false kick if I ever heard one.

In the future, report people for that sort of behavior. I also would have kicked at least one of them the moment they started copping an attitude. Unless the third person was also joining in, they'd likely remove people who aren't playing well and are being annoying. It also breaks them up so they can't kick you.

I was doing Ala Mhigo today and on the final boss I got cleaved by the tankbuster twice and died both times. I figured I'd let the tank know to watch where the boss is facing next time so they don't cleave people just before I left the duty.

They started messaging me telling me how it's my fault for not standing behind the boss, which, maybe it is because I don't have the replay, but considering when I dps I stand still and don't run around unless the mechanics dictate me to, I'm pretty sure they would have had plenty of time to reposition the boss. Plus I have a bit of a subconscious habit as a healer to stand behind the boss at a certain distance because that's where AOE heals will hit the most people.

Either way, they kept telling me to not talk because I don't have a tank class at 70 (I have a warrior at 57) and insulted my profile saying to get to mentor status first before giving them advice. (Apparently they have all their combat classes maxed out) They also called me a noob for not having a house and in general just calling me a toxic player who's a cancer on the game, as well as a bunch of other stuff I'm not really gonna mention.

Either way, at this point I'm about 90% sure getting hit wasn't my fault. From my limited experience as a tank you're supposed to reposition the boss to prevent cleaves because mechanics happen and people have to run around.

I would have reported him for those insults at the very least. That tank is the toxic one. He should have had plenty of time to reposition the boss too, considering it gives the cue for the tankbuster quite a while in advance.

I used to get people telling me I knew nothing about tanking as well because I wasn't 70 at the time. I would just ingore them. That type of person isn't going to be open to change at all.

The good part: did the World of Darkness through the roulette, and it was a perfect run (minus some deaths here and there). All mechanics were done correctly for every boss, and nobody needed to say anything in chat, save for somebody reminding tanks to pick up the Wolfsbane ads during the Cerburus fight. I’ve never had a smooth WoD run…ever, until yesterday.

    Now the bad.

I kinda feel bad for not saying anything, but…

Anywho, went into Sephirot for my Trial Roulette. One of the tanks was returning from a long break – pulled the boss…and immediately lost him within a GCD. I’ll put it this way – I was in my 4th GCD by the time they actually managed to get aggro, and during that timeframe, the other party members just completely roasted him. The tank, a WAR I believe, apologized and admitted that they had forgotten some skills.
The party chat did not let up, at all. It got to the point that by the time Sephirot went into his second phase, the WAR died…and received no rezzes for the rest of the fight. The WAR apologized multiple times, but the chat still jumped on his case about the whole situation with pulling. I felt bad for the guy – just came back to the game only to be subjected to this.

On one hand, I did wonder why he queued into a lvl 60 trial fight if he was just coming back. On the other hand, the party took their hazing way too far, to the point that it was definitely harassment.

But I kinda didn’t want to draw attention to myself. 4 vs 1 tends to not lead to good results, so I just kept my mouth shut. No point in me reporting either, since the last time I reported someone for outright abusive talk, I got the standard ‘we’ll look into it’ talk from a GM and nothing came from that.

What a pleasant Hell's Lid roulette to start the week!
Pretty much a perfect run. Excellent DPS, healing on point, I even got some Shadewalkers to help along, and the whole party was being just generally nice.
On the long stretch after boss #2:

And they sure healed the big pull like a proper veteran white mage.
Wish more runs were like this ^v^

A note for the people at my Lighthouse run last night at Construct, during the aoe/stack part of the fight: move towards the outside of the room and spread out when marked by the AoE splash puddle marker while the person marked for the stack and everyone else should move towards the center of the room to soak the damage. I died at least twice because people just weren't stacking for the yellow marker while I did. Granted, I could have probably just left the person with the marker to their fate, but I (probably foolishly) hoped that enough people could make it to leave me with at least a bit of HP left. And I hate leaving the marked players in a lurch, anyway. There are worse reasons for dying than executing a mechanic properly when too many others didn't, though not many that are as frustrating.
