Outside of places where we hang out a lot like Revenant's Toll, nobody really knows what the Warrior of Light looks like. We may be on a first-name basis with all of the major leaders of the free world, but to the common citizen, we're just another random adventurer. So unless they need a bag of rocks taken to somebody fifteen yalms away, or thirty bear asses to make a potion, or some other oddball task, we're not terribly interesting to them.

Almost everyone knows of the Warrior of Light, but almost no one knows you're the Warrior of Light. In fact, I would say that very few know what the WoL actually looks like. The number would be higher if it were not filled with his/her enemies whom were eliminated. It is also in the Scion's and anyone in league with the WoL best interests that he/she remains largely unknown; making all those fetch quests a VERY practical means to do so.

The true identity of the WoL based off of the age of industrialization on Hydalean would be shrouded in mystery and fairytales. The stories and physical descriptions that start from those who have actually interacted with the WoL, would get so skewed the further they reach towards the edges of civilization. By time it gets there, the physical description of the WoL would be so far off that no one would believe you if you told them.

At this point, I would even go as far as to say that the stories of the WoL has made him/her an icon or symbol more so than an actual person. And that is exactly how my character feels about being the WoL.

I'm imagening a comedic quest line centering around the concept of overzealous fans and the horrors they can bring.

Imagine a pack of overzealous lunatics who will stop at nothing to track down their idol and worship the ground upon which we walk, and the shenanigans that might come about because of their zealotry.

And the WOL having to find some way to get rid of these maniacs.

This, but they don't know what we look like. They just show up where we've been, cause so much trouble that we have to go back and help calm things down.

I quite like that idea.

I have this mental image of the crazed fans being unable to agree on what the WOL actually looks like, and the club splitting like a religious sect and falling into infighting over which is the "One True Faith" and everybody else getting caught in the crossfire.
