Forum Community vs In game community

i've recently been reading the forums alot (due to exams and work i don't have the playtime i would want :P) and i just want to say that there are loads of people on my server that love the game and appreciate the patchs we get. sometimes i read these posts and i seriously wonder if that person is even still actively playing the game (someone was complaing about that 4% surcharge.. are you kidding me? its up to 4k... so whats that a 100k purchase? even thats a joke.. your either poor because your lack of skill or don't play so please stop crying) i really feel like alot of the feedback that appears on the forums only reflects a small amount of people who play the game all that much. all this complaining on the forums is leading to easy mode for the people playing the game.

p.s i know there are those of you who do and some random is going to say "i play all the time i'm the greatest i have a 50 job!"... but honestly i bet at times you have thought the exact same thing reading some of this stuff.

I usually stay out of the official forums, and I think most of the people who really love the game do the same unless there's no other choice (currently in the same boat as you with exams and such). I agree with you 100% though.

SE i know you had the best intentions in mind when you opened these forums... but as it stands now these forums will only lead to cause more damage then good for the game. These forums have become nothing but a random string of complaints and frustrations that only a very VERY small percentage of active players are having problems with. Many of the threads and comments found on the forums are full of disrespect, inane comments and silly pictures. This Thread is a plea to SE to please restrict posting privileges next month to paying players only. (these forums were created for you to recieve feedback from players i do not see why that privilage should extend any further then the people willing to pay to play the game) While I beleive that reading the information in the forums should be open to everyone there are many other social forums for people who aren't playing to voice there OPINIONS. These forums WILL and HAVE hurt the game. Please SE I, along with many others are begging you to please stop taking the concerns of such a VERY VERY SMALL percentage of players wants and expectations so seriously and to begin to take forum comments with a grain of sand. As it is now these forums very rarely, if at all.. reflect the opinions of the people who are playing and beating the new content. Many end game ls's are simply using there own forums and websites to discuss the game, but i can tell you right now nine times out of ten its not complaing it is strategizing. (yeah there isn't much end game content but there are end game ls's because alot of us aren't going anywhere because we love the game as it is and for what it will be) Final Fantasy players are patient. The disrepestectful attitudes and behaviours found on these forums are not a representation of the people who truly enjoy the game.



p.s if you are going to take polls take them in-game... add a poll npc in a city or something. even if it just means some of these people will have to log in for first time in three months the data collected would but a much better representation of what the actual players want in the future.

Few of my in-game friends or LS mates seem to visit these FFXIV forums at all. Most of them are too busy playing the game... I'm often the one posting links to the announcements etc.

Yelta I believe that is the way alot of Ls's are currently going about the forums. one person will sometimes peek onto the forums and check for posts from devs and post those in chat. Very few players are willing to sift through all the nonsense on the forums to get to a dev post about upcoming content/changes. I really hope this thread gets the attention of the devs.
